*Sigh* Good-bye level 10, hello level 2. I agree, once again with the newbie thread points and the logarithmic exp leveling, but not the ladder two. Though the RP points and game points are given for actively participating in the community, IMO. We want to promote such activities as them, so I feel they are keepable.

Well, I'm all for a logarythmic scale to make the early levels go pretty past, and the later levels more difficult.

Right now, we're seeing quite a few first or second level bunnies, and a lot of high level bunnies. Making the first levels use less xp gives more diversity in levels, which is always good.

I'll be thinking of a nice way to distribute the xp between levels.

It seems people are still annoyed at my high level (Jelous, All of you!). However, may I note that I have been here for over a year and a half, and have over ten thousand posts, all of which were gained on the two EGS forums. I didn't gain that many xp in the last month, I went back over my entire history and calculated all of my points (It took hours, trust me). My points have been going up in very small amounts recently, maybe five or ten points every other day. And there are plenty of other people at the newbie thread welcoming people, have a look, I'm not camping the spawn point, I just spend a lot of time on these forums.

We pick at you because we love you....
I mean them! 'They' pick... er. Anyway...
This does make an intresting thought go through my noggin. The newbie Exp, while a little high, does serve one of the best purposes. I think that people giving newbies a warm welcome is worth 5 colored avatars, but a robotic 'Welcome. *glomp* Heres your junk and scram.' may become an issue later. I can't think of a real solution at the moment unfortunately, but I'd thought I'd point out the problem.

WTF...

ok, how did that happen?

Ok, I will fix the level calculations asap, like to night... and ill put the newbie thread under consideration for exp changeing

I've got nothing against your high level, personally. I was just concerned about having to make a whole new set of level banners because you would need them, and that would mean a lot of work for me. I've got to update at least 9 of them because of the calculation error I found, and I still have to make title bannners. So really it's a minor point, but it did initiate a certain train of thought.

Looking back, I see you hadn't included your game xp a month ago.

I think people will still warmly greet new bunnies, even if they don't get as much xp for it. We're just nice that way.

Three words: PHP post counter. It would search for all posts in this forum made by the user (not the entire server); search for key phrases, post titles, etc.; and automatically increment the user's XP level. If it were PHP-based, I'd come.

The ones to look out for on that count are probably the ones who make a lot of fan content and'll probably pass Berk before he hits 20, I'd guess.

What do we want to do when he hits level 20? Should we put a level cap at 20, or do we add new levels to the list?

How about a single banner for 'epic level bunnies', anyone at 21+? No need to worry about periodically adding a new set, just one banner that shows 'hey, they have a lot of xp'.

Hmm. I don't suppose Legion Form could be an Epic Bunny feat? ;) Er...with changes and such, is there a location where these rules are posted for review? I'm rather curious as to whether or not I've leveled up yet.

Makes sense. I'll go make it tomorrow, along with the special title banners.

Also, I've looked at the way levels are distributed and the system is quite elegant. With an Epic Level added, there really is no need to change it.

Uite wrote:Also, I've looked at the way levels are distributed and the system is quite elegant.

elegant? hehe, it was kinda a pain to work it out right, and im supprised that the errors in it was not caugt sooner... but its up to date now... just dont ask for the specific formula i used with excel... would be confuseing, even to me...

Frostbite Knight wrote:is there a location where these rules are posted for review

the rules posted are the current running rules, use them untill the post is updated, in some cases you may lose exp, or gain exp for new items added. Im trying to slow the updated to once every other week, considering how it was at the start... like everyother day.

But considering how it started, and what it has evolved into now, it is a great group project.

Well I mentioned the recurring formula XP(L) = XP(L-1) + 50L before, which is definitely elegant.
The linear formula for that would be XP = 25(L

I'm sorry to double post, but I don't feel I can edit this into my previous post.

Anyway, I've finally finished the title banners! You may also have noticed I've updated the banners for level 11 - 20.

Here they are:

The Epic and Lord banners are supposed to be silver and gold, respectively. I don't know if it really looks like it, because my monitor is crappy.

Also, I didn't make an avatar creator banner, because avatar creators really aren't distinct from other artists.

the Banners look good on my end. Though i haven't color calibrated this particular monitor. (why do i need a color calibrated monitor? well let's just say i live with a professional printer and I can have one)

You forgot the 25 exp you get from posting your list of points, Frostbite Knight. But everything else looks correct, so, yes, with 215 you are a Chibi Bunny.

1760 posts:50+25+5*16=75+80=155XP
~1 or 2 months: 0XP
Newbies: 15*9+5*35+25*2=145+175+50=370XP
RP: 25*14+...Nah, won't try to count pages. We'll just go with... 30. =350+150=500
Game: ...Arbitrary figure of 50. =10XP
Other: +10XP for a newb kit item. +25XP for listing XP. +5 XP for what I can only guess are 21 songs on the "Songs that remind you of EGS" thread. +20 for 4 ninjas.
Totals:1095 XP! Which means I am... Level 6: Cat Bunny. Need to read the XP lists.

EDIT: New totals posted. Still not about to go check on game and RP XP. Fixed a couple errorses.

Misc Creation Exp: - Create a Working TFG: 10,000 Exp

Uh... Wait a moment. I labeled myself as Bunny Artist because I did that fanart pic I linked, but now I'm not sure if a "Bunny Artist" is a bunny who makes fanart or a bunny who colours avatars... :o

Both. Because making avatars is just another form of fan-art, really.
