Mandros is right. It's just for recording learned spells. Although I can easily take it out.

Hopefully that 'one more' is a healer. :)

nokvok wrote:So what class would my char rather need to be to get Katars and shurikens? Cause I rather switch classes then redefining character concepts. The 'theme' is more Ninja than Shaolin, despite the shaved head.
Glimpsing over the bio of the thief I got the feeling they are not especially needed for 'our' thief, though if they are, I of course leave cantrops and smokebombs to him.

well there is a ninja class after the 'class advance' we get from bahamut, though that may be drastically altered for the RP. its the advanced form of thief in the game they didn't have the throw ability so they got low level black magic but once again that may be drastically altered for the RP. if not then you could be a fighter that prefers or is trained in exotic weaponry. this is all my opinion mind you[/quote]

I believe that the thief or fighter, trained in "exotic weaponry" would be an acceptable concept. However, I would also accept that if you would prefer not to learn the lower level magic as a thief, I would accept the throwing ability.

If it's just for the concept of recording the spells, then I'm perfectly fine with it. That reminds me, would you guys prefer to have all four of the available level spells available for purchase?

The main aspect of her fighting is hand to hand though, not exotic weapons (the list of her strengths is in descending order). The shurikans merely add a ranged capability and the hold out Katar (vulgo: A tiny fist blade small enough to hide easily, more a tool of assassination than direct combat) is essentially a manifestation of the order's 'dishonorable' ways of combat. just like the caltrops and smoke bombs.

Also i guess I need a bit more about the magic that is available. The basic concept and maybe an example or two... maybe that would open an alternative.
The 'throwing' ability is what I figured is needed to successfully use shurikans...

Bear with me on this one, I just have rather big problems thinking that whole class thing, I am not used to apply templates in my character creation processes ;)
Need to look up something about my chars? Here's the list: Characters List (Updated 4/5/11)

Fine by me. ^^

Wait, four levels? I thought there were more... I'm confused.

as magic goes there where only four spell available per level for each class (ie four black magic spells and four white magic spells) in the game you could only learn three spells per level which meant a black mage could only learn three out of the four spells and a red mage could only learn three out of the eight available spells.

Ah. I understand now. Thank you.

That would be a great idea to have them all available to pick from.

I know this thread is dead, but I've recently had a stroke of cognitive briliance. I have made an original Final Fantasy story (still set in the first game)! Let me know if anyone is interested in reading what I've come up with and I'll make a new thread.

Well, I do have plans for more variety, but later in the game. Let me know what classes you have in mind.

Glad to see that I still have a few people interested! Also, mandros, I don't need you to make a new character per say, but I may need you to edit his back story.

okay hows this

History: he grew up on the streets, living every day off what little food he could steal. Even though he was a thief he still had a code of honour which was one, never steal more then you needed and two never kill unless you have to. he took to wearing a mask under his hood whenever he went in to town to hide his face from the guards, who have a hate on for him. (probably cause he keeps stealing there sweet rolls).
