Munchkin Mayhem

Postby davecom3 on Wed Jul 30, 2008 5:17 pm

How many people would like to have a new munchkin game running? Any cards that said people think should be left out? Do we want to delve through any Mayhem dungeons using the Munchkin 6 dungeon style deck? Munchkin 1-5 will be used, definitely.

Ooh ooh ooh! Me! Meme! me! Me!

I mean.

I suppose a such a trivial card game could passingly hold my attention for a moment.
I've got no qualms with any cards myself. I'll join though. I'm in a very munchkin mood still.

I prefer to just use the first few decks, and the Kneepads of Allure should either be removed or turned into a one-shot.

I was definitely going to use the first 5; it's quite a deal easier for me to mess with removing the 6th than to remove the other 5. I can remove cards, but I'd just as soon not remove entire decks, except the 6th, which is the dungeon delving one.

er, is there a link to where game rules and cards can be found? I think I'd be interested, but I need the details.

While seeing the exact writing on the cards might be difficult to do, Steve Jackson did provide a good sight for locating the rules and the card list. http://www.sjgames.com/munchkin/game/

The rules related to Munchkin 5 de-ranged are noted here. http://www.sjgames.com/munchkin/deranged/
I'll do my best to write down any and all instructions and notes on the cards regardless of whether we add the dungeons or not.

There was a program I wrote to try to help making things easier for a dungeonmaster, but it probably isn't online anymore because I don't have upload space for it. Well, I'm not sure, but at least I can't upload anything new.

yeah...that doesn't really help much. I don't feel like shelling out money for a card game right now, and it's too much to expect you to note down how every card works, so I guess I won't be joining this.

I'd be up for it, having played munchkin about 5 times (live) recently post-comic-con. I've only played with the base deck before though. And I'm evil. there is that.

Actually, that's how it has usually worked in the online runs of the game. As long as the GM does his job of posting the card in entirety when it's drawn and the players in possession of the cards keep track of those descriptions, it's no biggie.

Okay, let's see, AP, CC, Catldr, Moomanibe, and Lommy. I figure I can manage one more or twilightdusk taking the spot. That would give 6 players, and I could decide who started with a roll of a die.

But, AP, seeing as I'm the DM, I should be the one with the hat. Careful not to anger the dm; I'll let CC keep it outside of game, but having the classes at the start with the hat seems somewhat unlikely, so I'm afraid I can't let you keep it during game, AP.

So, if I happen to face bigfoot before I get a class, does that mean he'll ignore me? I mean, I am clearly being dehattified by the dm now.

The game hasn't even started and I'm already getting munchkiny.

Well, AP, you can wear a normal hat still, just not one that might give you classes you clearly shouldn't have before I have even dealt out the cards. After I deal out the cards if you find that hat around in the deck somewhere, sure if you have the capability, you could equip it.

Twilightdusk, I've put you as the last player due to wait on confirmation but you're in. The list goes Anti-Paragon, ChroniclerC, Lomgren, Catldr24, MOOMANiBE, and Twilightdusk. And you other two are reserves.

Okay, I already posted the sig banner, but here it is again.

And then there is the base for the cute-looking stat block that I like to use. It's a little too big to put in a sig, but it looks good so grab it, edit in some stuff, and toss in your wiki page, link to it directly, or put it at then end of your posts. Whatever.

Awesome!
Alright, for set-up phase, I respectfully return ChroniclerC's hat. Despite Davecom's rules, I manage to sneak a feathered hat in under my shirt and promptly put it on when he's not looking.

(Card Played)
Bard
Enthrall:When facing a monster, you may discard 3 cards and select a rival. Each of you rolls a die; if your roll ties or beats his, he must help you and cannot ask for a reward.
Bardic Luck:When you win a combat on your turn, alone or assisted, draw one extra Treasure. Look at them all, and immediately discard one(your choice).

I then promptly start playing my bardic instrument of choice. The cowbell.

As long as the hats have no properties besides being there, I suppose it's okay, but they best not be giving bonuses without being actual cards that I've dealt to you.
