Looks like they were putting it off for so long, it's a bit late now.

Either this was a false alarm, or Ben is going to get a hickey that will never heal.

I'm hoping that Diane is strong enough[1] to suggest to Ben that they stake her before she loses her ability to control herself.

It certainly is interesting to see Ben genuinely happy for once. Or if he was ever shown happy before, it seems like it's been an eternity.

Could it be possible for Diane to lead a "normal" life once Dracula is defeated? He did say that he needed nourishment to control the vamp-wolves... Or would she just become some sort of emotionless husk, having been turned in a different way from others of his line?

And, um... isn't Mel Ben's stepdaughter, not his daughter-in-law? ;)

I think that until Dracula revives, she's going to be fairly normal (for a vampire). Afterwards, however...

Nope. Even the Tagboard has slowed down somewhat.

Being the goddess of the Netherworld (and having descended there once already) I suppose it makes sense that Ereshkigal can control the "elements" of Hell... but now I'm having trouble recalling why she'd need a descendant's help to regain her place.

Hmm... is Chelsea going to depose her here and now, and become Queen by the time the others have resurrected her? (See, all I can seem to do lately is ask questions--which remain unanswered--or point out inconsistencies, so I'm not much of a conversationalist these days.)

My guess is that descendants, being alive and all that, are helpful, and that Ereshkigal really needs a descendant vessel void of its rightful soul to do what she really wants to do. That way, there's no pesky conscience or other soul there to get in her way, but all the power.

You're welcome.

It used to be a lot more active a few years ago but it's tapered off a bit.

Sadly. I wish I could figure out the secret to active forum status.

Anyway... today's update was fascinating, Jamie. I was truly surprised that Corrine isn't all set to kill her mother, but instead has a plan. I just wonder if it's a full-body transfusion to try and eliminate Dracula's blood in her... or if it's to feed her mother.

Which only goes to show how talented a storyteller Jamie is. :) Well done, Jamie. Well done. :)

Whatever she says, Mel still loves her family. I don't know which theory is correct but I suspect that Mel's picked up a trick or two from Lilith.
