Dwa-huh?! This only opens MORE questions!
Such as:
"What's your definition of goon?",
"Why were you hoping she was a goon?",
and
"Why does not having stairs makes you a goon?"
Image?

Stairs and Goons

Postby Al-Azif on Wed May 19, 2004 8:07 pm

I'm pretty sure the Goon comment is referring to the people who frequent the Something Awful forums.

The "stairs" in question most likely refer to Lowtax's seminal ICQ Prank "Space Robot Bonanza!"

That's why I loves him! (Al-Azif, not Lowtax)

Unfortunately I'm pretty far from the SA scene, aside from random image links I get from friends. Sorry.

It's quite a scene, if you ever get close enough to it. I know both Dave Kelly and Ian J are members of the SA forums. Even Jon Stewart is a goon!*

Just thought I'd add in my two cents.

I've found the strip a couple days ago and found the comic interesting enough to bookmark it.

Usually I'll check out a comic for a while before either keeping it on my list, or deleting it, simply because I find some strips start off really great and then slowly lose themselves along the way. So far, I haven't seen this happen with SD which is great :D

For me, I've been noticing that I'm starting ot like comics with a more gestural feel. There's a couple strips I check out with some great artwork that isn't refined through illustrator and photoshop. I've noticed that a lot more of the character's personality (as well as the artist's) comes through. So, definate kudos for the art work.

As for the story, I can't say it's the best I've read, but it's still interesting. Seems like it's going to progress somewhere which is great considering how many online strips like stalling their story as long as possible.

Anywho, that's all I got to say for now,
Quattro

I've just noticed something. I read a fair number of webcomics (18 at last count). Most of the ones that update daily, I often lose track of the story between updates. I sometimes have to re-read the previous strip to remember where I am. (Maybe those strips are candidates to delete from my bookmarks.) But that's not the case with SD -- I'm engaged in the storyline and eager enough for the next installment that I pick right up in the story. So good going, Kiwi, for writing and drawing a strip that keeps me engaged!

Thanks,
jim

I'm just going to take this time to post my SD fanart. Kiwi has already seen it in my livejournal, but I'm going to post it here to share the love. That and it kind of goes with the earlier Sidhe comments. Damn it. She's frikkin' hot.

Great art there, fella. I have no art to share. I can only write crappy fanfic.
