I'm draining the whey from a fresh batch of quark cheese right now!

Oh, you're talking about that Star Trek thingy.

Does that involve a sock?

If by "sock" you're referring to the type usually worn on feet I don't know how well that would work. I wrapped it with cheesecloth and put it in a colander and placed a mug on top to put a bit of weight on it.

I'd never done it before, but it's ready now and seems to have turned out well.

Joke...

Okay, I decided it was worth looking up. I'd never heard of quark cheese before. Apparantly it's fairly common in Europe? So how did it taste?

So curd cheese isn't the same thing as cheese curds... CONFUSING.

I want some of that quark cheesecake.

Pretty much the same as DS9's Quark- a bit like cream cheese, but with a stronger sourness like what you'd taste in unsweetened tub-set yoghurt. Now most of it is mixed with sugar and whatnot and refrigerating in a makeshift pashka mould. I look forward to finding out what it tastes like with actual quark instead of a substitute cheese mixed with sour cream.

For some reason Odo[r] is following it around wherever it goes. (When I'm not straining cheese I like to make strained puns- the result is usually even cheesier!)

And effovex, I'm definitely using that observation if I'm ever called upon to describe it again. Because the more confusing an explanation, the more intelligent you appear to be. Even if you keep starting sentences with words that aren't supposed to be used for starting sentences.

Hey, do any of you remember that episode where Quark used advanced future technology to get a temporary sex change operation so that he could use feminine sex appeal to help him negotiate with a male Ferengi?

WHAT THE HELL WERE THE WRITERS THINKING??????

RIKER ALREADY DID THAT ON TNG!!!!!!!!!

I don't remeber either of those. I thought for sure I'd seen all the NG eposides.

I had my doubts about the upcoming Star Trek movie, but now it looks okay. From the publicity photos I've seen on imdb, it looks like cross between the reimagined Lost in Space and Jason X.

If you prefer, Quark is smooth and creamy with a latent sharp bite. The flavour lacks complexity, but has a solid base which lends itself well to a wide variety of dishes from pastas to salads to desserts.

That's what it says at the back of my DS9 DVD boxset, anyway.

1. I hate having to explain my horrible jokes, but I guess I must. The Quark sex-change happened, but I made the Riker one up.

2. I wish I had seen every TNG episode. I have seen embarrassingly few (comparatively). I am having great trouble finding a video store with the DVDs.

Three. I had high hopes for the new Star Trek movie, but any comparison with 'Jason X' fills me with terror.

I figured it out after a few days. You had me there for a while though. Maybe I have seen them all.

Eh, not in a horror/slasher kind of way, just the way the technology looks and the actors are skinny/healthy types.
