Hoo brother. Remind me never to sit down on their try-on benches ever again. *shudder*

Then again, I have a feeling that 90% of public places have been chosen by someone at some time for an exhibitionist moment. *shudders again*

The big question, Lugnut, is do you use public water fountains? What if that shoe-store kneeling girl was thirsty when she was done? :-?

O.o I thought *I* was random.

And no, I don't use public water fountains, for that exact reason. Bleh. Call me a bottled water snob, I dun care

What I don't understand is that people will use their foot to flush the toilet in a public bathroom, but then they open the door latch barehanded. Man, my sleeve's over that sucker, and that's only if I don't use tissue. Saw a smear on the doorhandle once, about 2 seconds before I touched it...after I threw up, I swore to myself that that was gonna become HA-BIT.

Not until the old man is dead!

Postby Lisa Dahling on Sat Nov 20, 2004 5:24 pm

I don't know if Sam Walton has any kids to carry on the family business, but it would be funny if the ones who take over from him start moving porn and other "objectionable" material onto the shelves before the body is even cold! It would be even funnier if it was his kids who did it!

PS - Wal-Mart wouldn't even sell a T-shirt with Margaret from Dennis the Menace that said "Some day a woman will be President." Apparently Sam Walton is a pathetic, weaselly, misogynistic creep who is threatened by strong women. To paraphrase the Rain Man, "Wal-Mart sucks!"
I object to all this sex on the television . . . I keep falling off!

Sam Walton did have some kids. And things have been changing at Wal-Mart. And yes, he was an odd duck, though all in all an okay guy, I think.

Actually that body is WAY cold...Sam Walton died a LONG time ago. How long escapes me, but I remember hearing about it when I was a good bit younger.

And yeah, there are children, I just don't know if any of them are 'taking over the reins'. If I had that mess ahead of me, I don't think I'd jump in to take over, either.

I think Wal-Mart is run by a board of Trustees now. It's a publicly traded company etc. etc..

Walton is dead. His children, between them if I remember correctly, are together majority stockholders in the company, but they proxy thier votes to the board of trustee's in most things. I think

And Lugnut, bottled water is silly, In my opinion. A buck. For a 20oz bottle of water... sheesh.

Oh, and spell Evian backwards and see what you get. :)
Emmense arsenal... that's funny.
What? Does my arsenal look big in these pants.

Aquafina sells for a buck, thanks!

Never knew about that bit with Evian though. Duly noted, will have to use that. I just don't trust water fountains and all that. No, I'm not the kind of person that runs around spraying everything with sanitizer or anything, I just know how easy it is to get sick off of that crap. My grandfather had cancer, and after a round of chemo he got sick after going out with my grandma... they speculated that it was from the bathroom. So I'm just a lil bit careful.

I love the Evian thingy. Its fun to rub in bottle-snob's faces

Seriously tho, Lugnut. Save money and buy a couple of water bottles, fill them up at home and freeze them (just don't fill them all the way). You have your safe water that's icy cold, and you're not paying silly money for water that's fresh from a mountain stream (and processed through a city treatment facility).

Sometimes the tap water tastes awful.
Our water gets sucked out of a salty lake then enhanced with calcium and other minerals we supposedly need. It tastes like chlorine and is kind of chalky.

I have a filter on it which helps a lot, but you can't always be at home.

As much as I bust on Bottlers, I do agree with the taste issue. The only thing is, I take it a step further. I hate water period. I don't care if it's bottled or not, it's just too darned plain for me. Brew tea or coffee with it, flavor it w/ fruit, whatever. I just can't stand plain ol' water.

Besides, as my grandfather used to say: "I don't drink water. Fish f--k in it." Yeah, he was... quirky.

I don't mind it. Everything else has junk in it that has to be filtered out; I'm a runner so I care about stuff like that, although fruit juice isn't as bad.

I feel the same way about oceans and lakes. Once it's been chlorinated and everything I'm okay with it after that.

Lakes I don't mind. But unless I've got scuba gear, I don't swim in the ocean. I just hate saltwater. Feels like those soaps that don't rinse well. Just kinda slimy. Bleah.

Wal-mart is being investigated for price fixing, discrimination and forcing employees to work through lunches/breaks and not paying overtime.

When Wal Mart & Microsoft announce a merger, I'll be in my fall-out shelter. All are invited, but bring games or something.

Heh! Lookit what I found on CNN

http://money.cnn.com/2003/09/15/news/co ... t_playboy/

http://money.cnn.com/2004/11/16/news/fo ... mcdonalds/

Apparently for the McDonalds one, they only have 6 chicks...

Edit: Also noted that they did a Women of Home Depot spread too... (there are women at Home Depot? I never see them when I shop there...)

Wal-Mart employees have a reputation for being cheerful

I've always found them to be kind of surly. Most of the time I feel like I'm inconviencing them.
