QoW Update - Comic for 2/04

Postby Aeire on Tue Feb 03, 2004 9:25 pm

Is now up, and from the news:

Prints are now gone! GONE GONE GONE! Didn't sell out of them, so the remainder will be stored someplace SECRET. Perhaps I shall trot them out again later this year, perhaps NOT.

Keep your eyes peeled for #1: more fairy cheesecake goodness, #2: The inevitable return of the Read poster, and #3: T-shirts, all coming up in the next month.

Also, tonight marks the return of the Malkuth Madness Network, a late night radio show that airs on 91.3FM WVUD outta Deleware. For those unfamiliar with it, click the link above and it'll tell you how to get radio goodness on your computer. The show starts at midnight EST - I may call in and harass them.

Two eyes in the dark...

The Grammar Nazi's eyes are quite frightening. Oh yes.

And I've often wondered...what does the Grammar Nazi do to people who know better, but intentionally butcher the language for the sake of writing styles, poetry, etc?

I want to know if I should be seeking protection...

I've missed the Grammar Nazi. I hate those asl kthanxbye bastards...

Of course, there are those who correct others grammar not because the other person's grammar is so horrible, but to prove their own superiority.

Although I hate it when I see major publications screwing up.

Actual commemoritive 9-11 magazine;

After 9-11: Changes for New York and it's People.

Grrrr...the correct word is "its" not "it's". You'd think these guys would use spell and grammar check. Microsoft Word has both. Or here's a wild thought...PROOFREAD!

Sorry...

I wish I had an army of people like her, just to dispatch to the places which annoy me - some web forums especially draw my ire. A pity that, despite the information economy, that America itself seems doomed to slide back into the Middle Ages, as far as literacy rates go.

Problem is MS Word spell check/grammer check sucks donkey ass.

I've had perfectaly leagle sentances and it would complane that I needed to do this or that to it. And I'd do so, only to have the sentance butchered and not mean what I wanted it to.

The problem with MS Word's programs is that both of them screw up on a right regular basis.

And they usually don't catch when you use the wrong word, ie its versus it's.

Hint for its versus it's: It's is a contraction of it is, so if you decontract it and the sentance no longer makes sense . . .

Try being Canadian and using the fricken thing. We tend to add in a lot of extra "u"s, which the spell checker tends to freak out over. And not a lot of programs either have a Canadian english, or remember to use that as the default.

Aerie?

Marry me.

I'll cook, clean, and do all the shores just as long as you can keep cranking out hilarious comics day after day to make us all laugh.

I love the Grammar Nazi. She reminds me of my dearly departed English teahcer from way back. I think she'd have the same reaction to that conversation!

Aeire won't marry you, read the FAQ.

Q. Will you marry me?

A. No.

So sorry that I had to be the one to tell you. Do you think you'll be okay?

Doh. I'm heartbroken. Sniffle.

Guess I just have to read the comic more. Or buy some Kestrel cheesecake the next time some is available. Or something!

You keep telling yourself that.

And do you mind if I call you para? If I'm not quoting you, I can never remember how to spell your name. I used to say it in my head wrong (paramamboo..how the fuck I got that, I don't know!) so it's hard to remember.

Yup.
