Franc, I think it's the American version of the French croque-monsieur, if I'm not wrong.

No me.

My husband and I are going nuts with trying to find what song plays on the new Wendy's commercial. I tried some research on the web, but the only information I can find is about the "Where's the beef?" and bouncing burgers commercials (no, I'm not looking for the "Satisfaction" one).

It's just so catchy and I know the darn song, it used to play at the bar I went out at... it's terribly frustrating! :o

Fleur, I heard about a website recently that allows you to sing to it and it'll name the song. However, I can't find the reference that I heard.

Meh, it was pretty much just a rant. I've had that little bit of the song stuck in my head for three days now.

Thanks Franc, although that wasn't exactly very helpful :P sounds like a very interesting website, though.

I know it was on one of the BBC podcasts last week. I tried listening to the ones I thought it was in but couldn't find it. :-(

For me, I can only get rid of a song in my head if I hear the song in my head. When I was a teenager I had a song stuck in my head for 2 years![1] It wasn't until I went on a school trip and one of the other people their brought that song along on cassette that I finally exorcised it.

[1] I'm officially (slightly) tone deaf so communicating the song, especially based on 1 half-remembered memory of hearing it on the radio.

Both work, scientifically. In my case, hearing the song usually works better than hearing another one; I'd rather get rid of the first one, than ending up being stuck with another one :P

This works pretty well, too. And if it doesn't, then at least it's amusing.

Big on amusing, low on effective. Perhaps more effective if was using orginal versions of tunes, instead of the musak I keep geting.

We've had over 20 inches of snow here in the last 48 hours. Even for us it's unusual; this is the second day the school I work at closes, and I'll probably be off work as well tomorrow... It's a bit hell to clean up, we can't even dig the car out.

Stop, thief!

A week or so ago we had a light amount of snow but nothing special (apart from the fact that it happened).

Ugh, you can keep the snow. I'm sick of it after the two times we got really bad winter storms. The first time it was just snow that didn't melt for a few weeks. The second time it was an ice storm that didn't melt for a few weeks making everything a skating rink. Of course the city can't do anything about it until it finally warms up.

We got a lot last week. It's still considered normal here to get 50-60 cm (20ish inches?) in a week, but we got it in 24 hours last wednesday. It froze the city (HA HA, PUN) for two days, and the streets are only half the width they usually are. It's beautiful, though.

Had a fair bit, but last few days have been warm, so is melting. Sadly, nights are still cold, so refreezes, have big chunks of ice littering the road. Not plesant. :(

I'm just worried they're predicting another big storm soon. Can only hope would be the last of nasty weather for the year. :(

That sounds a bit utopic. The rest of the winter, maybe.

I'm tempted to say that we don't get many storms in Britain but that'll be tempting fate.

Got some snow, but not the huge amount they were predicting.... however, the storm system isn't over with yet, so might still get snowed in...
