In Which the Villains' Actions Make No Sense (11/11/2013)

So, the Void Archons were sent to take out Danica. Yes, technically they were sent to take out the space station with Danica in it, but she's designated the prime target of this mission. This rather implies that destroying her is more important than destroying the station.

So of course, they just left the prime target behind and went on to destroy the station.

and amid the wasted wreckage that was once her research station home, Danica ponders... "What if I'd just, y'know, blasted the MULTIPLE ships instead of doing something stupid against a single one with an inexplicably medieval-age style sword made out of light?"

Well bear in mind we seem to be working off of the model where even though she's carving gaping holes in spacecraft she's not actually killing the Void Angels.

well, two points... a couple of strips ago, she was firing light-beams anyway and switched to a sword, presumably because "metal."

Secondly, it doesn't appear that she--and by extension Mookie--gave even half a thought as to what effect carving up the ships would have on the people inside. How would she know their ships well enough to understand where she can attack without harming personnel anyway even IF she were trying? The non-killing of Void Angels appears to be a lucky coincidence, not by design.

Admittedly I'm just going off of genre convention here, but being a superhero I'd wager there's that invisible "don't kill" line that (at least in a good comic) would be significant if finally crossed.

Mind you I don't anticipate that handled well in this comic, or even looked cross-eyed at, but this is the sort of thing we seem to be dealing with.

Swinging a giant blade at a ship with people in it is at the least grossly negligent if you're not intending to, y'know, kill the people on board.

Not that there's anything wrong with defending against aggressors, but, one should at least be intelligent to know using a weapon on a ship is possible to result in deaths.

Stupidity has its own infinite continuum, from bordering on the brain dead to just shy of normal.
