I'd had higher hopes when I saw Miranda using constructs, but it seems we're cutting straight to the zappy zappy.

In a real life fight, black belts of all disciplines, even the fanciest martial arts will just use simple punches, kicks, and throws. That might be why Mookie uses beams, same concept. The problem is that she uses constructs and get's fancy. She's passed the basic but tried and true techniques already, which is why this is boring with the damn beams.

Two of the most skilled wizards in the multiverse are in an arena that touches all the planes and is malleable to their will. It should be an interesting fight. Withering flames against shields of elemental ice. The very terrain wrenched into maddening shapes. Elaborate feints and counterfeints, layers of illusion and concealing your true angle of attack. Something that beggars belief or even description.

NOPE, BEAMS.
