As bad as this is, it was a very big surprise. Stunt killed an Archmage by throwing a dagger into its mouth and through its brain. That was actually kinda awesome. However, I know for a fact some bugs stay alive even without their heads, and thus their brains, so it is likely only very temporary. Or maybe there will be another surprise and he is actually dead for good with the explanation that he is the weakest of the Archmages, or maybe being taken control of by the beast has weakened them

Is he seriously dead? No, I doubt it. Not even Mookie could stoop that fucking low.

But, seriously, the goddamn deadpan way Stunt and Dominic are reacting to him? Even right in the middle of casting a spell? The way this goddamn super-powerful archmage that can bend reality promptly falls at a single knife to the mouth?

I rather like how he just casually dispatched an archmage. Hopefully he really is dead, but this was still amusing either way.

I actually don't mind this as much because it's overtly ridiculous. Meanwhile we're supposed to accept Milov and Jayden's performance against an archmage as credible. The other problem there is they were using magic. I don't actually have as much of a problem with archmages being bested by nonmagical means. The only problem I have with this outcome is it reeks of a rush to get through all action that was a huge problem in the Maltak arc and is looking to be a huge problem in this one.

Well that one in the desert did destroy an entire ancient city with Rilian inside it. Does that count?

But remember guys, he thinks you don't need to kill the good guys to keep up dramatic tension. So he thinks this is a big pop in drama.

I guess it's ok to kill an archmage by shoving a dagger through it's throat, however I get the feeling from this that any of us despite not being in the comic, not having any background with anything mystical, and all other good reasons could still kill an archmage with ease, which destroys their threat level as far as I'm concerned.

Come on; this is a villain being destroyed by someone who is not a Deegan (mercy-killing a bit of Alduraithel doesn't count). That's commendable.

I think this is terrible. Super-powerful being built up and then taken down by a dagger after 12 strips of maiming and destruction would be ok. But to just off it like that is a new low for Mookie.

I actually thought that was kind of amusing. Reminds me of people talking about how Hogwarts could've been saved from attack by a handful of well-placed snipers. I know the archmage-thing will come back and attack so that Dom can kill/defeat it, but I'd be happy if Stunt did actually kill it and tomorrow's strip is just eight panels of them staring at the dead archmage-thing with the final panel being Dom saying "I think we can move now" and Stunt replying "You first".
