[5/5] Rollerskates on the stairs

No metaphors in this one, nooo sir.

good to see Shelly back to herself, but this means the inevitable will come tomorrow, won't it...

Hrmm.... another question, if pablo is in the mid-west, why does the comic update at midnight pacific time?

(edit #2)
I just noticed Heather called shelly 'babe' in both panels... rollerskates on stairs indeed. Once this thing gets going, it's going to go...
Smile, because despite whether or not the decisions you have made in the past were the best, they were ultimately, and in all ways, FOR the best. - - A picture may be worth a thousand words, but the sight itself, a thousand lifetimes.

I don't see the metaphor but I'm happy she's OK...

Fighting a bear with brass knuckles, now THAT'S idiotic. Seems like she's coming around, though. I bet in the next strip she notices the "babe."

Scuba diving with a tank of carbon-dioxide is idiotic.

Telling your third rade teacher that "Ain't" is a word is idiotic.

Skydiving with an ACME parachute is idiotic.

Storing a bowling ball on the top shelf is just lack of common sense. But then, Shelly has been distracted -- at least she has had some good action in the past and will be dealing with her internal demons and her new attraction.

Can't rollerskate in a buffalo herd
But you can be happy if you've a mind to

I would have stored the bowling ball there too, but made sure it couldn't roll off ...

Just curious. Shouldn't like Shelly's Dad be there or something? Obviously she is okay, but it seems that her family shold be notified.

Hmm, yes. I expect that he'll be along momentarily, frantic with worry, and burst in when Heather and Shelly are in an emotionally charged moment. Maybe when Shelly's rattled brain finally hears the "babe" and reacts to it.

Fridays are fun!

Where am I going, and why am I in this handbasket?

Actually, Shelly and Mon call each other "Babe" all the time. I don't think Shelly will notice, even if Heather does mean something by it and it's not just something that they say.

ie. http://www.wapsisquare.com/d/20050330.html & http://www.wapsisquare.com/d/20040823.html & a few more that I can't find at the moment.

Also, I have a few female friends that are close to each other and call each other "Babe" all the time, too.

Yeah, I call my friends affectionate names like that all the time. "Sweetie," "hon," "babe," "sexy mama," "hot stuff," "beautiful." It's just affirmation and familiarity.

Do all hospital rooms really look alike? Because I'm really starting to think that they are. Same colors and everything (not that there are colors here, but I've seen a few recently and they all seem to be the same color).

And does Shelly have an IV? Poor girl. I hope her daddy does show up soon because I can't imagine how he's going to react. His sweet daughter who he sees all the time and who made him faint just by cutting her hair sitting in a hospital room? He's probably going to have a hard time.

Pulls up a bean bag and settles down for the pre-Friday wait.
