That's what I think of when I see that new commercial--the one with the young couple in an apartment jumping up and down and blasting their ears inside out...until the guy in the apartment downstairs comes up and tears them a new one. Then you see them loading huge new speakers into their car and doing the same thing again...but the camera zooms back to show they've bought a house.

I want that commercial to end with an angry mob of neighbors. :D

Commercial's for a car...um...Volkswagon? Toyota? Maybe? That's how effective a commercial it is.

Volkswagen...that commercial's one of my faves :D

I clean house to goofy music...the Moulin Rouge soundtrack (yeah, THAT is embarassing when I get caught dancing), "I Want to Break Free" by Queen (if you've seen the vid, you'll get the joke), and bouncy happy goofy music by UK boybands, like A1 and all. At least I get it done quickly!

And btw...8ball shirt pics will be up soon as I can scan them!

Slight varient on this theme: At work, I sometimes listen to Jet Li's Hero in english. I know it so well, I don't need to see it, and I notice all the differences between the subtitles (I presume the actual dialoge) and the english dub. It would be sad, except I only saw the film once before I could do that. Conversely, I want scilense when cleaning. Ok, now I feel odd.....

Music for me means a ton of different things at that volume. When I'm on a set of twisties I know really well, I put my earbuds in my helmet and carve some sportbike meat to the 'Ghost in the Shell' PS1 game soundtrack, then 'The Vertical' on the same CD. Intense, but uplifting and magic carpet, are the tunes I like to ride with.

Led Zeppelin I, Ghost in the Machine, Traveling Without Moving, and of all things, Lifeforms by The Future Sound of London, are great cleaning CDs for this freak. As are the Cowboy Bebop soundtracks and the odd Stereolab and Sugar Cubes. ;)

You get more mileage from a cheap pair of sneakers ... it's still rock 'n' roll to me :)

Umm...isn't it "You don't have to put on the red light"?

Hey, you don't get to expect total recall from me before 10:30am (check my original posting time!) You're right, though. But since this is usually yelled at the top of my lungs into the handle of a mop, I'm not usually going for accuracy, just feeling.

Moodring: never said you had to be of the era to love the music. There were just enough triggers there to show there are a hell of a lot of us '80s teenagers bopping around here in Wapsi. Good music is good music. And bad pop can still be fun for everyone!

I'm gonna take this to the Pub -- too much goin' on off topic (mea culpa!)

"The Warrior" by Scandal featuring Patty Smyth, sometime around 1983.

So in other words, the summoner is listening to "The Warrior"? :-)
