Does "groovy" count as feedback?
The book is almost always better than the movie. You could have no better case in point than FROM HELL, Alan Moore's best graphic novel to date, brilliantly illustrated by Eddie Campbell. It's hard to describe just how much better the book is. It's like, "If the movie was an episode of Battlestar Galactica with a guest appearance by the Smurfs and everyone spoke Dutch, the graphic novel is Citizen Kane with added sex scenes and music by your favourite ten bands and everyone in the world you ever hated dies at the end." That's how much better it is. - Warren Ellis.

Nobody ever told Picard that "Ye cannae change the laws of Physics!". They just DID it. - Vampiress Kat.

Well, I do know that a couple of people (including myself) have put up colourings of occasional strips (and a couple of fillers), without any objections being raised. Beyond that I have no idea.

Please see Dan’s opinion on colouring EGS strips first.
I think he's changed his opinion since then, though.

Now this is something that I'd like Dan's updated opinion on. Anybody has a more recent source? Or could someone poke him to this topic? =/

Let's not. Dan has issues with other people modifying his work, and frankly, I agree with him, as I have the same issues with people modifying my work.

Those were taken off-line on Dan's request.

Last I checked.

Well, it'd be really modifying if people were to, like, colorize ALL his comics. Or at least a big chunk of 'em. But one or two, how does Dan feel about that? If you put together all the colored avatars and put the original text back in, you have just about the entire comic in color as well, because there's hardly any interesting panel yet to color as of now.

So, what's the line?

I'm pretty sure Dan doesn't want them coloured, end of story

Want what coloured, is what I'd like to know. How about the avatars? Or the occasional single-panel-colorization?

Creating an avy based on the comic, is like takeing a quote from a famous novel, moding it to fit the given situation, and useing it as a motto.

Creating a full colour strip is like rewriteing an entire chapter from said novel, rewriteing it so it will still have the same meaning, but "colour" it with some metaphors, and telling everyone how it is better this way.

THIS is the line.

After almost giving up searching for it, I more or less stumbled onto this. He doesn't seem to dislike at least that colouration.

I just don't know what to say about this. It may seem like Dan's opinion DID change, I just don't understand how.
As for that coloration, I'm getting really confused about Grace's skin color. I know it has a darker shade but is it really that dark? Early colored strips and wallpapers show her to be of a lighter tone, like she's more tanned then the rest.

Considering all the references, I think Grace's skin-tone is somewhat middle-eastish, though sometimes I become unsure if it's tanned, middle eastish or oriental. Sometimes I even think of afro, but she doesn't look afro to me (as opposed to Tony's friend or Sensei Greg).

For better camouflage in mahogany forests!
And yes, we know that mahogany doesn't form forests on its own. Neither does it matter for the purposes of imagining a stealthy sneaky Grace.

Slight criticism: Your structure requires any visitor to load all of your things to see them. This is not bandwidth-friendly.

Uh can you be a bit more specific? I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to technical stuff.

I think he means that images take up a lot of space, and most of the time needed to download the page (text takes much less). When you add new pictures at the end of a posting that already has a lot of images, users will have to download all the previous images first before they can get your new one - which is an unnecessary waste of resources, especially for people with a slow and/or expensive connection.

That's why most people just put their pictures in their newest posts; this way only the newest page - and the pictures on it - will be loaded.

Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes
They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses
And what's with all the carrots
What do they need such good eyesight for anyway?
Bunnies, bunnies, it must be bunnies
Or maybe midgets
