I had to ask the same, one thread page earlier ;)

And God bless you for that. :P

Although I should clarify as a Gnostic, I am meaning that for humor. (The phrase "God bless you" is an insult to some Gnostics, you have to be careful.)

The fundamental idea that gives something the Gnostic label is that this world is a little tiny corner of a great wide universe, and is something of a cosmic trap. This usually leads into the notion that this might be some kind of prison, detention center, or that there is a false God who is really Victor Von Doom, but not always. Most Christian Gnostics believe in two Gods - the Demiurge and the Pleorma. I think that if there is a god to this world, then yeah, he probably is a (using mild language) jerk. I don't believe in the Pleorma.

I'm from Denmark, and a new arrival to EGS. Having finished reading the archives, I have now settled down to going through selected parts of it with greater attentiveness to detail. I love the comic and its characters, and expect to be along for the ride for quite a while. Thanks for the entertainment, Dan. :)

I presume it means people who take little to no interest in sex and/or sexual attraction - feel free to correct me people!

Depends, but that is generally what it means. In fact, with the little to no interest(since little is included) you ARE correct.

It basically surmounts to people who think sex means very little. Most asexual people either don't want to do relationships, or limit it to cuddling, and being close.

6. Obsolete.
a. to surpass in excellence.

Basically either of the bolded explanations make it work. Don't question my diction son, that word is used in many fine works!

Basically, I'm saying that this simplified argument is the one of most "excellence", or best.

No, neither of those meanings makes sense in context.

It's used correctly in many fine works. It makes no sense to "surmount to" something, which is why I linked to Malaproper - you were looking for the similar-sounding "amounts to"...
