The first webcomic fan art I've ever done. Place it shortly after PB.

Nanase and Susan seem to be least popular XD

I made a nice drawing of Ellen singing. She looks older, as if she's been doing it professionally for years now. X3

as for the title, well...the description tells you...

A sketch to practice drawing Nanase. Elliot is just tossed it which explains why he's not in his gi ^^; Maybe her hair is too long, iunno, but she looks alot like Tifa...or maybe I'm just that obsessed XD

http://solescript.dark-solace.net/Noah.gif

Noah because I always wanted to draw him. The recent filler was just an excuse to do so XP. Unfortunately I don't like the result. But that's my fault.

http://solescript.dark-solace.net/Archie.gif

Archive diving and a ran across a rather nice pic of archie. Easy to draw from. (yes, I actually used a reference this time XD I can do that if I wanna). Anyway Archie as a teen. Possible a Soccer Superstar by now...

A little hobby of mine is pixel art. This is juat a teaser of something bigger I'm working, on though. So expect more of the same sooner or later.

I've offically decided to close this as a fanart thread and just continue it as a shameless plug of my random art/webcomic X3

8/21/06

Wow! I did an EGS fanart! Just one of those urges to draw Ellen and Elliot kicking butt, really XD

Not sure if I liked how it turned out. I drew it at about 2 am, so... XD

If laziness won the war, it had some very confused surrender conditions. Seriously impressive piece, regardless of initial intentions :)

Hmm, the only criticisms that come to mind are that the left hand looks a little bit oversized, and the hair is a little too long for the normal Ellen. Other than that, looks great.

:o If this is what happens when you get lazy, I want to see what you can do when you really try.

I'm thinking the laziness had more of an effect on scope than quality...

Nicely done, but with two quibbles:

First, I'm going to second the comment that her left hand seems unusually large (the explanation could be foreshortening/perspective, but the rest of the pic doesn't suggest such a wide angle virtual lens).

And second, due to the hair and face shape, I'm more reminded of Erika from MegaTokyo than Ellen. Stylistic differences are OK, but I'd wager* you could do a better job of translating her characteristics into your style.

Yeah, that hand gave me all sorts of trouble, I finally decided to just go with what looked best (lazy again X3). I like drawing long hair, I suppose that's a fault of mine. This time, I tried to go for a more relaxed approch to the character design than my earlier pic (which is pretty popular comapred to most of my other stuff). I'm hoping to at least make another EGS attempt that will hopefully be either a better coloring job or a good quality sketch.

(I hate perspective. Foreshortening is evil DX)

As to the "not lazy" quality picture, it's not EGS related, but it would most likely be the Lion Sora fanart that I've set as my featured piece.

EDIT: As It's probably been a while since I originally posted it, this is the previous piece I just mentioned. Looing at it now, it's horribly crappy compared to what I'm capable of now. XD

Very cool! I love the highlights on the hair. :)

heh, thanks.

Rummaging through my old files (ie, the pile of sketches in the corner of my room) I found a piece that I thought was a funny concept and wondered why I never shared it here. I don't think it's really good enough to be submitted to my gallery, (anatomy is wack on this one XD) so I out it elsewhere.

http://solescript.dark-solace.net/TeddandTedd.gif

(He's not looking at your face, Tedd ) :D

This is a funny scene I thought of back around "Missing Persons" when Lord Tedd first showed up in a less imposing light. Seeing as how his history is probably without some facets our Tedd has had, I doubt he would have developed that "nasty" habit of turning himself into a girl. So he'd, naturally, be surprised if Tedd ever met him before he remembered he took a shower that morning.

Very nice pic!

Just wanted to say that while looking at comments, I finally reached a link to wikipedia (hammerspace), where I found this link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Goonish_Shive

Now, I was wondering... if anybody here doesn't feel like being lazy, perhaps an update of that page would be nice? Seeing as all the art on that page is... well... pretty old and doesn't do justice to what Dan can do now. Or at least, that's what I think. It's just that I've got a project I need to work on now, and after that, I'll either forget this or be far too lazy to do anything. =/

I think they should just add some of the Newer One's further down, like they have done with the Other Pics they got, so that you can see the Sort of Evolution of Dan's Art.

I'm glad people think it's funny. Alot of times I don't think my jokes would make sense to anyone but me. then again, this one was pretty obvious.

I'm also curious as to how the wiki page came up. It doesn't seem to relate in any way XD

The first pic, with the entire cast on it; comments -> Susan's sword -> 'where does it come from?' -> 'hammerspace!' -> wikipedia link to 'hammerspace' -> 'El Goonish Shive' mentioned in the wikipedia explanation on hammerspace -> tadaaa!

Must... get... fan... art... section... working!

I have the basic system in mind; I just have to code the administration. Once that's done, adding fan art will be insanely easy for me ^^;

Aw, please  There are people better than I am.

Dan said that exact same thing the last time I posted my fan art here XD

I'm honored by yor opinions. Unfortunately I still think I could do better. Nothing I draw ever looks like what I want it to XP

EDIT: A sketch that started out as a normal Grace pic and turned into something that looked like a 17th century charcoal drawing of a princess XD

I give you, A Woman of Grace

http://solescript.dark-solace.net/WomanofGrace.gif

(also on DA if you wanna fave it)

I really like this alot. I did nothing to it other than add the border and change the color of the sketch. so it's 100% pencil.

I think it kinda looks more "Aerith Gainsborough" than Grace, but that may just be me. I liked playing with the hair XD

Also Avi's all around, cuz the public likes avi's.
