Fawe likes being a jerk for kicks, but I know what he's like off Mayhem; he's plenty mature when he's taking the subject seriously.

My ideal modly superstar tag-team would also be AP and BinaryWraith, but I'm iffy about pushing for Wraith as mod because he doesn't have that much time for the internets; otherwise, he'd be a better candidate than any of the others competing for that slot. It could work, though, if AP was sorta the on-call mod/in charge of the daily-type stuff, or something along those lines.

Oz seems pretty good too. My knowledge of him isn't as detailed as the rest of the potential mods, but he seems like a good fit.

I'm not convinced that they're the best candidates for mod, but I'd be OK with Fawe or TingYi, and they'd probably do a decent job.

Just say NO to Squato.

I don't know much about Oz but from what I've seen he might be decent. I'd be willing to do it if that's the "will of the forum." Or umm...the Dan.

I wonder if Bi might be a bit harsh. And I know people thought that of me so what does that tell you. ^_~ I guess we all just have our different points. But that's just my two cents. So long as there's a mod I'm happy.

Also...

Time isn't impossible to come by as most of our moderation is likely able to be taken care of via self-policing with the report function, but I'll just be pleased to see these debates end so we can get back about our business. Ting Yi's got a good point in that I do have some harsh opinions, but they basically boil down to 'follow the stated rules, and all is well'. :)

Edit : Forgot to mention, Nth'ing AP as a recommendation. I think he's got the attitude to do well with Mayhem.

If it comes down to it, I DO support AP. I'd rather us not move, because ya know what? Some of the stuff we do in Mayhem here would probably NOT fly at 910, or just as likely be buried by the stuff that ALREADY goes on there. That, and many, many Mayhemites probably don't want to change their homepages, and probably (for some of us who have been here more then a year) fairly ingrained habits.

You should have nothing to worry about. The only thing Mods will genuinely be lethal on is insults. You don't attack someone on the 910 forums and get away with it. Not once, twice or ever. Other than that, barring the usual no profanity, obscenity and so forth, there really aren't that many rules. As a 910 mod and bunny both, I can see this being an issue for some members of the community here who do seem to enjoy, for lack of a more polite way of putting it, sticking their finger up your arse slowly until you want to punch them. Or just being plain impolite. That said, this is a tiny minority, and I'm sure when they learn that the tolerance for that sort of thing is 0, they'll just get used to taking their anger and frustration to the PMs. It's not like we pretend we're better people or anything, most of our mods are quite capable of expressing the foulest of bile, however they never do so in public. That is all we will ever ask of you.

So, if you keep your temper, both on the dishing and receiving ends, be conscientious of what you're saying and if a mod tells you to cut something out, even if you don't think it's an attack or offensive, just do it. We're not trying to limit your free speech, we're not trying to make an example of you, we're not powertripping. we're just looking out for other people and making sure they enjoy their time on the forums as much as you do. Believe me, I know every one of the 910 mods and talk to all of them regularly. Every single one takes the objectivity of their duties extremely seriously. Nothing we ever do is personal, and it will stay that way (and be required of any bunnies who are elected as mods over there)

As for staying for staying's sake, well, perhaps mr obama can provide some words of wisdom there- change happens. It may be good, or bad, or meh, but if you don't come along, you get left behind. Better to go with the flow than resist it, even if it means life is a bit more tumultuous.

I can't believe you're seriously comparing moving forums to Barack Obama.

On topic: Mods!

Why not three? A trifecta of mods! Ting Yi could be the good cop, A-P could be the Neutral Cop (Sorry, A-P. I don't know enough about you except from the ask Ting Yi thread and that you have a level head). Now you just need someone harsh.

IE, BinaryWraith.
The 'You Are _ _ _ _!', 'My Personality Is...' and all things related are stupid. There will be no argument on this.

Not a bad idea; three mods is still a reasonable number, it'd take the load off Wraith, and it'd cover all three of the major candidates.

Just a comment who came from Mayhem - there's a word filter on the 910CMX forums. The no swearing means that swear-words are blacked out. Generally, attempts to circumvent the word filter is looked upon badly, but you can still get your point across with
SPOILERS:lots
and lots of
SPOILERS:color=black
blacked out sections to indicate vociferous swearing.

Also, BECAUSE of the numerous mods, it's easier to get more controversial conversations going as people are there to make sure it doesn't get too far out of hand.

Just don't push when they say stop.

Seriously. They DO on occasion suspend and break out banhammers if you push after a stop sign's posted.

Looking at the rules, I apparently just have to say f**k three times to get banned, even though that word's the top candidate of being auto-censored. I guess the mere implication of profanity hurts their souls.

Not that I get "sexually oriented" either. That pornographic and explicit material, be it visual or in text form, is not allowed is obvious enough, but "sexually oriented" is so vague I'm not even sure where the line is.

Yes, there is more then a few ways around the "swearing rules". Whats more, the EGS area is Dan's place, so the general view by the mods is that Dan can keep his house in order his own way.

The thing about setting a person's gender is just there for those who might want to do so. Think of it as a Facebook-lite if you really had to think of it as something (only with less real meaning). So unless you are the type who has to make it a s big thing (writing on others pages, etc), then don't worry about it.

Ting/A-P/Bi Triad vote GO!

The only thing Mods will genuinely be lethal on is insults. You don't attack someone on the 910 forums and get away with it. Not once, twice or ever.

You can't insult someone? Not even once? Ever?

I've seen a lot of crap rules, from requiring bios the size of a small paper back, to two page (In MS Word) posts, but that takes the cake for Worst. Rule. Ever.

We're human. Humans insult people.
We're not trying to limit your free speech, we're not trying to make an example of you, we're not powertripping.

No. If Change happens, and it is not productive change, then you have the right, the duty, to stop it.

Yes, but the good thing here is that none of them will be able to make a grab for more power in order to eliminate the others like Octavian did to Marc Antony and Lepidus.

I agree with the Binary Wraith/Anti-Paragon/Ting Yi Triumvirate (I can't read that word and not see The Sandman's first voyage into hell...)

If I were to make a single choice, I'd prefer Binary Wraith. I don't know Ting Yi well enough to give a well informed decision, the few times I have talked to her though I had an impression similar to what Cammy described. A-P is fantastic, I really like him (for all he calls me FerretBoob >.>) but he seems to me slightly more passive than BW.

I agree with the "Just Say No to Sqauto" Campaign. I don't think he's stable enough to moderate Mayhem impartially.
