Unfortunately we never really got a moderator. I understand Dan is busy, but we've asked several times and he's given us timelines he hasn't kept without excuses. We need a moderator. PLEASE!

I've been getting this message here, too. And my postcount has been mysteriously reset to 0.

I've sent a PM to Kisai about it. Hopefully we can get this thing sorted out.

*Insert joke about Berk here*

Once again, Dan, I must ask you to get a new mod. People have been asking for one for long enough.
The book is almost always better than the movie. You could have no better case in point than FROM HELL, Alan Moore's best graphic novel to date, brilliantly illustrated by Eddie Campbell. It's hard to describe just how much better the book is. It's like, "If the movie was an episode of Battlestar Galactica with a guest appearance by the Smurfs and everyone spoke Dutch, the graphic novel is Citizen Kane with added sex scenes and music by your favourite ten bands and everyone in the world you ever hated dies at the end." That's how much better it is. - Warren Ellis.

OK, I'll try this again.

Once again, people ask for a mod, Dan. Will you disappoint them again?

I read the Keenspot rules thing and it says this should only affect people who have just started posting - to prevent spam (and I completely agree with this system as it works very well) but it shouldn't affect anyone who has posted around 5-6 times and has been approved by a mod for these posts, it is also a quite recent (i'm not exactly sure how long ago) change and anyone who posted before the change should not be affected - therefore it is odd how some of you who have been posting for a while now have suddenly become affected.

The post count thing is also weird, I presume this is an error on the part of Keenspot and I'm not sure about any current moderator positions on EGS (although my posts have been taking a while to appear so I presume there is only one or two mods for this forum - probably only Dan who is more than likely to be too busy to approve posts most of the time - what with the comic/life etc. so a new mod would be good...

Everyone has to be approved it seems. Not just new people. So that creates a lot of work for Dan as people come on. So you can probably see why it would save HIM time to just give us a mod.

To be honest, I'd settle for some kind of explanation, even if we didn't get another mod. I've resigned myself to Dan never getting another one, no matter how often he complains about doing all the things a mod would do for him.

Me appointing a Mayhem moderator is a bit more complicated right now than it would have been before, but I'm going to try to work something out. Forum matters are going to be getting a bit complicated soon...

What I'm now worried about is that I'm approving posts in the two forums every few minutes now but the post counts still say "0". That doesn't fill me with confidence.

Yes I can only imagine how much of a pain it is. I can only assume this is some sort of "bug"

Does that alleviate all of the complications then? Because the idea (of a Mayhem mod) is still a good one.

Forget a Mayhem mod, I think this forum needs one. Flames/flamebaiting in particular is getting annoyingly frequent.

I see you've forgotten the last thread about how we need mods.

I also see you're a hypocrite, as you are willing to laugh about damn near anything and yet you still try to take the moral high ground.

It has been frequent for a while. Personally, I'd just lay heavy on the banhammer until things start settling down; even if it *was* global. None would be spaaaared!

A point about getting a new mod is made in the latest (recorded) bunnycast. Good to know Dan is doing something about this.

Lets see..

Berk - RIP, and the other Guy, aren't around for various reasons. I really hate to see the Forum go to Pot during your "heavy" work load times.

We're asking you to delegate.. There are people who are willing do the job, you just need to give them the Tools!! And I may post more than once a month!

Excellent news. I for one look forward to that. I don't listen to bunnycasts. Or any other casts, but always good to hear that news. Thanks for passing it along.
