So, are any bunnies here actually good at rollerblading? If so, care to share with us your sentiments on its difficulty? I'm certainly not any good. When I tried to learn rollerblading way back when I wound up flat on my back on the sidewalk with the wind knocked out of me. I never did get the hang of it, and with as many years as it's been since I last tried there is no way I'm gonna try to pick it up now. I'd probably kill myself.

Also, the thought arises that while Dr. Germahn uses Amanda's typing speed as justification for hiring her I don't think we've ever seen her, well, typing. I don't think I've even seen her near a computer or typewriter.

In required high school P.E, I was possibly the worst in my class. So, in my opinion, yes--rollerblading is hard.
MARTIN: What?
DANIEL: Okay. One, that's Star Trek; and two, it's ridiculous.
MARTIN: What's wrong with it?
CARTER: "The singularity is about to explode?"
MARTIN: Yes.
CARTER: Everything about that statement is wrong.
DANIEL: How exactly is having weapons at maximum going to help the situation?
MARTIN: The audience isn't going to know the difference. They love: "weapons at maximum."
MITCHELL: Never underestimate your audience. They're generally sensitive, intelligent people who respond positively to quality entertainment.
TEAL’C: I do not understand why everything in this script must inevitably explode.
MARTIN: Look, you guys may all know how things really work out there in the galaxy, but I know the film business. Explosions make great trailers. Simple fact. More explosions, better trailer. Better trailer, more viewers.

I can rollerskate pretty well, though I haven't in a long time (giant feet = can't wear most of 'em). Can't balance on rollerblades though.

Rollerblades were easy for me, having already mastered rollerskates, but they didn't have anywhere near the control. And, it's quite possible they're both hard :J

I remember my first exposure to them! My left knee swelled up to like twice its original size.

Chronos: For once, a story admits their stereotypical German Scientist is stereotypical! It fails to mention, though, that as a Stereotypical German Scientist, he looks just like Einstein.

Oh, and I agree with the title. Heck, Rollerskating is hard (and/or I just suck at it).
Reverse-Gendered for Sister II! (Call me "Crystal"!)

being german myself, that scientist stereotype has always puzzled me...
I mean, I'm aware of a lot of stereotypes about us, but scientists? Not among it! :okthen:

It comes mostly from Operation Paperclip after World War 2, when the US snagged all the scientists it could find from the ruins of Nazi Germany.

Also helped by Einstein's popularity before the war and the influence of people like von Braun in winning us the space race.

Pretty much. Which is why Dr. Germahn's hair is so crazy.

I can rollerblade. I won't say that I'm particularly good at it, but I can get on them and move around without falling down. It's really not that hard once you've practiced. A properly-adjusted brake actually makes a lot of difference, as a poorly-adjusted one requires you to lift your toe too far, which can throw you off balance.

Well, also the whole mad scientist thing, Frankenstein and all that.

However, mad scientist is not the usual stereotype of Germans that I've seen. Typically, a stiff, humorless engineer that is obsessed about conquering Poland is the sum of German stereotypes.
