Huh, it looks like the last panel would support the "antenna tucked behind the ears" theory. I think their coming out is what removed Grace's glasses. It's either that or they were cast off by the force of what badassery Grace has at her disposal at this time.

I wonder just how well that guy was concealed behind the barrel in the first panel. It doesn't look like it would be very effective concealment for somebody his size. He was probably counting mostly ion the cover of darkness.

And here lies what is probably the most compelling evidence of the transformation of Grace's character that many have talked about. Seriously, can anyone here imagine present-day Grace growling, period?
MARTIN: What?
DANIEL: Okay. One, that's Star Trek; and two, it's ridiculous.
MARTIN: What's wrong with it?
CARTER: "The singularity is about to explode?"
MARTIN: Yes.
CARTER: Everything about that statement is wrong.
DANIEL: How exactly is having weapons at maximum going to help the situation?
MARTIN: The audience isn't going to know the difference. They love: "weapons at maximum."
MITCHELL: Never underestimate your audience. They're generally sensitive, intelligent people who respond positively to quality entertainment.
TEAL’C: I do not understand why everything in this script must inevitably explode.
MARTIN: Look, you guys may all know how things really work out there in the galaxy, but I know the film business. Explosions make great trailers. Simple fact. More explosions, better trailer. Better trailer, more viewers.

I have discovered that Death Note + Lucky Star = awsome.
Here's more proof.

Hm. I'd call that a post-Damien thing.

Hm... as soon as STORY reaches Painted Black, I may archive-dive PB, and see how sudden the transformation was...

I can. A friend in mortal danger would do it, I think. We just haven't seen much of anything like that since the end of PB, after all, Grace wasn't there to see Elliot fight the Bloodgrem.

You know, it's only been a couple weeks since she left The Nest. She could just be on this euphoric high over leaving leaving her screwed up family and finding a really cool group of friends.

Strong emotions bring tears, they don't have to be sorrorful.

Couple of months, not weeks, but yeah, that's certainly a factor.

I've thought about this: if a monster attacks, it should definitely go for Moperville North. There's really only one super-powered defender there, Elliot. Susan can manifest a sword, but isn't a trained or skilled fighter. Tedd does not seem to bring the gun to school and doesn't actually use the (written out?) belt.

At South, the Bloodgrem would have been facing four super-powered people: Justin, Ellen, Nanase, and Grace.
