Sound effect balloons are such a nice way of censoring violence. It always reminds me of Batman. Yeah... that show was awesome. Er, but more to the point, if used in comics it can leave the exact nature of the violence in question, allowing readers to use their imagination to fill in the details. Now relating this to the comic: with the way it cuts between Tedd's unhinged-jaw shout and Sarah's storming off I kinda wonder if he got the chance to close his mouth by himself or if she "helped" him with that.

She is so a prude

I have to admit the art is getting better, and the joke less rough, in a month this could be a very good webcomic, especially if color is added

Less rough, perhaps, but only because it's very much a stock joke. I wonder if there'll be significant anime influence in the future, considering the feel of that joke?

How do you draw an anime influence from a "POW!"? I don't think I've ever seen an anime or manga that uses that kind of sound effect bubble. Have I just managed to overlook it or something?

It's the "Man offends woman, disproportionately extreme violence ensues" joke.

aaand already Dan demonstrates his ability for really cool facial expressions ^^ (And I'm not talking about Tedd here.)

I like the little blush on Sarah in panel 2. Either that, or Dan did something wrong with her eye.

no, that's pretty sure a blush... and I'd say it strengthens the first impression of her as a "prude" pretty well ^^

At least it's not a megaton punch.

More fourth wall breaking? I predict an early death for this comic. There's no way such a formulaic comic can stay fresh. Next thing you know we'll have some Dr. Strangelove rip-off character and a well-stacked female character with glasses that'll replace the "Sarah" character in a desperate attempt to attract some horny nerds.

*Crystal appears in Chronos' Spring 2006 bedroom.*

Chronos: I know the drill. You want my review of the third strip, right?

*Crystal nodds.*

Chronos: Tedd doesn't seem able to predict people's actions very well. And I love the joke in the last panel. It's nice to know there is going to be a story, though - one TG series I read didn't even have a story to it.

Crystal: As I recall, it was still pretty good, though.

Chronos: Yeah, but I prefer comics with ongoing stories.

Crystal: Which series was that, anyway?

Chronos: Transe-Generation.

Crystal: Thanks. I should go see if there are any new strips in 2008 since your archive binge.

*Crystal time-teleports away*

Chronos: :o
