I went for a whole week eating nothing but jello and drinking nothing but kool-aid.

I lost about fifteen pounds, if I recall correctly.

Yeah, that sounds kind of scary... I'm not sure I'll be trying the kool-aid and jelly diet anytime soon.
Although now I want some jelly.

Damn.

Man. I was forced to have nothing but juice and J-ello for a week and a half after a surgery. I think I lost around 15 pounds, too. I would assume that it would be near impossible to keep them off because I just gained it all back with my regular diet. Or maybe my "regular diet" is just excessive eating.

I gained back what I lost, but that's because I was 11 when I had the surgery and...people tend to gain weight between 11 and 22.

...

Holy crap, that was almost half my life ago. (I was actually 11 1/2 at the time, so I'll have to wait until I'm 23.)

Nope, it's the same thing (over here anyway).
You guys say 'jelly' but you mean 'jam'.
We say 'jelly' and we mean 'jelly'.
I never did understand how Jello, which is a brand name (correct me if I'm wrong), usurped Jelly's position as the title for flavoured gelatin goop.
I'm even more confused about why *anyone* would call jam 'jelly'.

I use both "jam" and "jelly" to refer to different things. And what I refer to as "jelly" is like mid-point on the spectrum from "jam" to "Jello"

here is where I clairify for everyone.

Jelly is a spread made from the juices of the fruit/veggie being used. Such as grape jelly, mint jelly, hot pepper jelly and so on. Jam on the other hand uses the whole fruit (minus stick bits and leaves of course). You see this with such things as strawberry jam.

Jello, in all cases, fucking owns both their asses.
We can't stop here, this is bat country.

Well, we don't have your jelly/jam spead whatsit.
Over here (as in England I think) Jam is a fruit preserve spread and jelly is a flavoured gelatin snack.

Of course we're crazy, you'd have to be to wear hats with corks on them!

But I digress. Tell me more of your Jelly, I would hear of it. Is it just jam without the real fruit content or, or something else entirely?
