Computer go KaBOOM!

Postby Khris on Tue May 24, 2005 3:19 pm

That's why I haven't been here much lately. My computer kind of went nuts. It didn't explode physically, but it did have a mental breakdown, so I had to wipe out its memory and have it start a new life.

So, how are the drinking and the sodomy going? Well, I hope.

Sorry to hear that, there's not much worse than having to format your machine and start from nothing again. Bleh.
It's amazing how many little changes you make to your system over the months/years that you didn't even realize were there until they're gone.

Well, it's not so bad. Since my computer is on a network with my brother's, I just transferred the important files to his computer and imported them back. It also helps that my brother has a computer science degree.

Yeah, that sounds handy.

I've been meaning to connect the HDD from my old PC and transfer the files over, but I really can't be stuffed.

It doesn't really seem like much has changed. I just need to reinstall things.

Something else I hate having to do... mainly because I usually have to borrow CDs off different people and it's a hassle.

I have two computer whiz's before me, so I've never had to handle a single component of computer installation. 'Course, that means that I'm hopeless with anything technological.

Yeah, I kind of run to him too often when I come across computer troubles, and he's not all that into explaining everything he's doing as he's doign it (at least not very well), so I don't learn much in the process.

I'm of the opinion that anyone who has their own computer should try to learn at least the basics of how to maintain a PC. It would make their(your?) lives much easier, when it comes to compujters anyway.

Well, I know some basics, but I also know whom to go to for some help.

I've also been drinking. Hi Psy!

Hiii Khriiiss!!

Hmm... I wouldn't mind a few drinks myself, I've had a particularly shitty day. I really can't be stuffed with spirits though. Perhaps if I had a few beers...

Someone buy me some beer?

...

Dang.

Star struck like a gong, screaming like a choir
setting everything on fire.
Bleached black and blue, a beaten blond.
There but for the grace of God...
here I come.

*sends Psy some Canadian beer*

I've never had Australian beer so I don't know how they match up with each other. I can tell you, however, that American beer sucks. They're so weeny that they're too ashamed to put the alcohol content on their beer down there.

I think my American friends put rabies in the beer I drank when I was down there.

Woo! Canadian beer!

And yeah, I'm pretty sure that most people the world over refer to American beer as Gnat's piss. Or worse.

Even their Smirnoff Ice down there has a lower percentage of alcohol.

Odd.

Don't drink the stuff myself, but I hear that the smirnoff (ice?) black has a fair bite to it.

Also. It's friday arvo, I'm at work, drinking a beer and posting on the forum. Woo.

(For the record, the alc content is clearly labled and comes in at 5.0%)

In Canada Smirnoff Ice is 7%. In the United States it's 4%. Why that is, I cannot figure out.

I had a broad over last night, and she likes Smirnoff Ice.
Smirnoff Ice regularly is 7%. But this Smirnoff Ice Ultra we had by mistake was 5%.
Which is about the same as some of the rum coolers you will find.
I don't know what beer is because I don't drink beer.
