Yeah, that's what I've been hearing from damn near everyone. So chances are I'll go see it.

I shouldn't have watched ep.2 again recently, that film offends me.

all my friend's girlfriends who got dragged along to see SW3 said they either: had a headache with the "random" light"saver" duels, or they thought the dude who played anakin was hot. or both

yoda does own all though, i dont need to see the third one to know that. also, i heard that they redid the original trilogy with new CGI and like, at the end of the 6th one, the guy who plays anakin from 2 and 3 replaced the fat old guy that was originally anakin without all the garb, like when luke sees him, yoda and obi the kenobi

Which doesn't make sense, because they should have had the specter of Obi Wan when he DIED (old), Anakin when he DIED (old!) and Yoda when he DIED (fucking ancient!).
Lucas likes to redo the original trilogy like a fuck.
And I wouldn't have this fucking CGI discussion if the arguement did not EXIST.
Okay bitch?
Okay shit?
I am not saying this directly to you. This isn't Event to Godmexican or Event to some fucking fomohorian. I am saying this to the sky, into the wind, so that everyone who bitches about this can get slapped by it when it travels to them by air mail.
This is for the sluts who came up to me and said "Lucas is making Chewie a guy in a suit and not CGI! Isn't that cool?"
No! Who cares! Not me! I've got things to inhale!
And in 2-6 days, your chops are getting punted by my sickly manifesto.

I don't like that they are redoing parts of the old movies. Even if CGI is good and wonderful and all that, it provides such a contrast to everything else in the original movies when it's just in random scenes, that it's really irritating. And as for Ep III, I'm going to see it again tomorrow with some people, so maybe I'll like it better the second time around. Not that I really disliked it the first time, but yea. I still think the actors in the original trilogy on the whole were much better than the ones in the new movies. Does anyone actually disagree with me on this? Better make sure of that before I go justifying it...

I disagree that the actors in the old movies were better. They were passable at best. Like, Han Solo was decent. Mark Hamill was so bad, and so was Carrie Fisher. As the movies progressed they got better, but A New Hope... oh MAN.

Okay. I'll get back to you on that. It's been a while since I watched the old movies anyway.

the fight scenes in the original trilogy are so lame. like i know vader/anakin is more machine than human, but come on...you think that really matters? and obiwann IS hold, but come on...plenty of old guys have kicked major ass

sean connery's character in the rock is the best example that i can think of. what i dont understand though is how like...fan freaks can get SO MUCH excitement out of 3 movies, now 6. oh but i hear there are 3 more novels after the 6th movie (RotJ) but even so....how can you get so freaking excited over 6 movies, 9 novels?! not directing that to anyone personally, im just trying to understand all these people that dress up like characters that are only around for a maximum of 9 prolonged situations

Wait, what?

Since when does something have to have a lot of situations to get excited about? What? Just because something is a short series people cannot be fans of it? So what exactly are you trying to say? Star Wars is so much more then just the 6 movies. There are so many things based off them- the books, the video games, any other games, cartoons, etc. So in order to dress up and get excited, what, it has to have a certain amount of movies/episodes or whatever?

I hope it's just that I have no idea what you are trying to say, because if it's the way I think it is, what you're saying (to me) is pretty lame.

It's not even the spin-off shows and merchandise. it's the fact that the Star Wars world has the capacity for much more. There is a history to the world, and a furture, and things happen in between. It's the epic scale on which the battle takes place. We can't help but be swept up in it.

Not that I'm condoning the dressing up part or anything. That's one of the highest forms of escapism, and... i guess they can to whatever the hell they want.

I have only seen two full length Star Wars movies, so don't take me for a representative of the fans, but I think what I said still has some relevence.

The best Star Wars stories are those where George lucas has the least influence.
I'm not a Star Wars freak. I can hardly be called a fan, but this is my understanding of the situation (shituation?)

EDIT: Episode 3 is my favourite cause it's the most recent one I saw. I haven't seen the original trilogy in like 3 years.

The clones didn't even attack. And they weren't even evil. The whole clones plotline of that movie lead up to a big nothing when they ended up helping the Jedi.

But then Yoda flips around like a Nazi, so it partly makes up for it.

Why do you think the Jews allowed themselves to be taken to the concentration camps in the first place?

Okay. No more Holocaust jokes for me.

i'm surprised you guys didn't know. Before becoming the Fuhrer, Hitler won the Junior German Gymnast Championship (JGGC) 3 times in a row.

Pretty astounding really.

But his grammar was perfectly German. I've never taken a German class, but it does seem that his verbs were pretty consistently at the end of his sentences, which is what German is known for.

But I know he actually wasn't German. I know for a fact that his father was a powerful demon's miniature clone and his mother was an simple peasant woman in a muppet slum deep in the lower levels of Coruscant. After Yoda's father was killed in a hate crime (damn anti-demon prejudice) his mother gave up one of her twins up for adoption, and a German Jedi named Master Gustaf adopted him. Yoda's twin brother Zoda grew up to be a vigilante who was all by himself responsible for Coruscant's muppet and demon civil rights movements before being assassinated with an atomic bomb at the age of 28. To commemorate Zoda's achievements, a very small town in Manitoba was named after him.
