shirt (little tiny rant)

Postby guises on Mon Apr 19, 2004 9:32 pm

i want a church shirt, but, even though it doesn't say it, i just know that the picture is on the front where i'd have to stare at it all day and it would feel all wierd. is there a reason why these things never go on the otherwise large, featureless back? it's so very much more appropriate.

Why would you wear a shirt for the message and then place it on a section you deem to be less effective. You should be proud to bodly voice your opinion to whomever crosses your path. Then, after they walk by, you can hit them in the head with a monkey wrench.

Today one of my teachers said mine was awesome.

That wouldn't have happened if it was on the back, as I wear a... jacket of sorts.

Teachers don't say "awesome".

Nobody says "awesome".

I said awesome a few times. Guess who is wrong? I'll give you a hint, it starts with "AndrewTaylor" and ends with " . ".

If by "much" you mean "once", and by "Canada" you mean "Spain", then yes, yes I have.

If by "part" you mean "independant", it is.

i have a good excuse for those who want to wear the "Drugs" MIH shirt at school and not have to change shirts or get punished

just say:

its a satyrical (sah-teer-reck-cohl, and it comes from 'satire') comment on americas tendency to throw drugs at something rather than addressing the problem. so by wearing the shirt, im speaking out against abuse of anti-depressants and other mood-altering drugs so that we, as americans, may face the real issues at hand

--

it works well for me, and i thank brandon h. for developing that excuse for me in the first place

My Drugs shirt has slightly less comic value now that the joke has been explained.

You didn't think of the excuse, but you thought of parroting it. That's awes... nevermind.

That is like throwing eggs at a brick wall, and then telling the wall that the eggs are made of lead (someone try to make sense of that metaphor as I continue). It won't work. They won't buy it. You can sweet talk them all you want; your tongue could have more silver than a reserve filled with silver and maybe Boxite, but they won't buy it. They'll say "It's still inappropriate". Maybe a teacher might have a passing remark about it being bad, but if a Principal walks down and says "I don't think it is appropriate", you can explain for 100 years about the satirical nature of it, but they have higher powers to think about. Boards of Educations and such. Examples to set. A teacher won't. The principal might be NICER about the shirt if you explain it, and say "Okay keep it on for the rest of the day but don't let me see it again", but I can't imagine with my genius brain that they would let it slide for you. Maybe it did work for you in a situation. But that seems like a fluke to me. Me, EventSpire. The Asian Sensation.
