Question for the Keen dude(tte)s...

How much does it cost to rent a booth at the convention? Also, do you have to add extra for an Exhibitor badge, or does one come with the booth?

A small press table is 350 or so, I think. What most people have, a really for real booth, is around 1300 to 1600, depending on when you register.

And each booth comes with two exhibitor badges.

Shall we serve stale Doritos and bed space again?

Sure. Hell, let's make some money. We can charge for the non-stale Doritos. Compared to Con food prices, we could probably make a pretty penny.

I think you need special authorization to sell food inside the con.

...sure, ruin the fantasy.

I'm sure there's some way. I recall a few booths over the years selling sodas.

Sell crappy drawings for $2.00 that come with a "free" soda and/or Doritos. ;) Or they can choose a bottle of water and a ZipFizz instead for that great caffeiny boost.

And we're selling the sleeping space under the table for a premium, right?

Heh. I like it.

As for the table space... $4 an hour sounds good, right?

Sleeping under the table? Or sitting at the table?

Sleeping under it could probably go for $5 for 30 minutes, and $8 for an hour. For artists who want table time, I'd say $15/hour would be fair.

Sounds like it'd work. Too bad the boardies in SD are some of the poorest, currently, making a booth reservation hellish.

Understood. I will be pretty poor myself around that time. I'll make sure I get the sign to you, though.

Ah, thanks.

In other news, for anyone other than Aurora or myself still reading, a possible source of funds has come up. By January we'll see if it's been taken care of or not.

How about instead of getting a "Flop House," we get a new computer for Maritza or her own booth? $300 could buy a nice computer for her, I think.

As for sleeping under the table, do I owe anyone $5?

I'd figured that a similar idea might occur if she's attending this year.

And perhaps we can get some of the webcomic artists that are fans of Mari, such as Aeire and sarevock and the like.

So when is the layout final for the convention set in stone? We need to find a $300 booth right next to Keenspot's.

Well, first off, we need the booth registration forms to go public. There's stuff on APE and Wondercon '05, no Comic-Con.

Aurora, just curious, but why did you take the flop house sign in the first place?
