What should we talk about in the Keen Panel?

Postby Gav on Wed May 22, 2002 11:22 am

Last year, the Keen panel was, by far, the most popular panel in its time slot, going up against Elvira and something related to, if not Stan Lee, if I recall. It pretty much consisted of a question and answer session, which was enough to hold everyone's interest and get us kicked out with hands still raised 90 minutes later.

However, this year we're thinking of preparing a lot more and doing some actual computer projected presentations. So the question to you, is, what would you like to hear us talk about? What parts of the Keenspot company or the comics of Keenspot would you like to hear about or see presented? Fire away!

Well, I guess we should talk about stuff or something....

I say just let it flow natually like last year. That was by far the high point of the con for me! Even meeting Stephen Notley made me alittle sad.

As for slides: It would be nice to see the enviroment in which all the KS artists create their artwork.

It would also be nice to see something along the lines of "A day in the life of Keenspot: an Introspectication" or something. It would show the process of maintaining KS and the different people doing the jobs.

Well, that's my idea.

Silly coolness.

Postby scrubbo on Sun May 26, 2002 1:38 pm

YOu know what would be cool? And really annoying?

A slideshow set to music, preferably bad disco/techno remixes, flashing a cartoonist's picture then 4 or five big shots of some of their niftier panels. If you did a whopping 15 seconds for each artist, that's a coupla minutes.

With a big finish of the keenspot logo for this con! Weee hooo!

And Crosby needs a giant foam hand so he can say "Talk to the hand" when somebody asks an annoying question.

And creme pies should be distributed to the crowd.

Okay, I'm done now.

Ooo! better yet, SCREW the slides*! how about make a "Day in the life of Keenspot" Video! I remember there was a video projector at the last panel. I remember Gav saying: "Could we please turn off the blue screen of death? thank you."

*you know what I mean. If you don't, then please be careful as slides tend to have sharp edges.

I asked to be on the panel but I don't think I'm allowed to be on it now. I still have a lot to say though and it doesn't involve cussing!

Uhhh...

A large room, full of large physically deficient (mostly male) computer geeks, 95 degrees, fluorescent lighting, and hard vinal seats.

Think long and hard Mr. Willis. Are you absolutely sure this is a wise idea? ;)

I would certainly enjoy discussing Keenspot's development in merchandising since the last con and how us 'Spacers can get in on the swanky fun. ^_^ We're becoming a regular empire of COOL STUFF!

Speaking of merchandise, it would be wicked for a sexy female mascot to fire Keen T-shirts at an eager audience with a large civil war cannon.

If we could screen tribute films or something, I'm sure lots of us would be eager to contribute. =)

I'm with Walky! Everyone naked! The panel could be entitled, "The Sexy Side of Keenspot Cartoonists," and they could shake themselves enticingly, and... *eyes glaze a bit* How utterly beautiful it shall all be...

I'll fight you for the cannon, Kiwi.

I'll want a timeline on Keensp* history, and maybe a graph or two showing financial issues ... ?

I'd be interested, anyway.

And nude, yes. But that's my answer to everything.

questions

Postby curtis on Mon Jul 22, 2002 10:36 pm

Here's a question that should be asked of the panel:
How do you feel about british comic artists who draw hands as big as outfielder mitts?
