House of Blues?

I take it you're not referring to Dan Aykroyd's music show on NPR? "House of Blues with Elwood Blues"? Something else? Am I being all out-of-touch again? I hate that.

Saw Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint last week. They are ending their tour at the HOB-New Orleans. Great show and actually contains some blues.

I believe the "House of Blues" name refers to the feeling you get when you remember how funny and cool Dan Ackroyd used to be, and then you realize that, between HOB and Blues Brothers 2000, he's spent the last 15 years defecating on John Belushi's grave.

Ah. Yes. I see. Out of touch again would appear to cover this situation. The Bangles, yeah, hard-hitting Blues crooners all....

Y'know, I really like the Bangles, by the way. But ... House of Blues?

So this is still Dan Aykroyd? Elwood? Dry white toast? Sigh.

Wait, I just noticed something that has me kind of glad I've been out of touch... "Steven Seagal"? These are, um, singing acts, n'est-ce pas? Yikes. Maybe I should just move sloooowly back to Puerto Rico where it's safe. (I mean, you can get shot there, but there's no danger of Steven Seagal singing, you gotta have some perspective.)
