If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times:

In my experience, if you get close enough to count the toes it's already too late in case she's a member of Perissodactyla.

I know Hydro, and I doubt he would turn down a girl just because she is odd-toed.

true enough. in fact, the girl i'm with now has an odd number of toes on each foot.
5, i think.

he didn't say odd-numbered toes - he said "odd-toed".

which i take to mean someone who has odd-looking toes.

which, now that i think about it, is most people....toes in general are pretty odd-looking.

welp, i believe the "number" part was implied, the same way an odd number is called an odd number, rather than an odd numbered number, whereas the odd is defined as a whole integer non-divisible by 2. thus, while i am an even-toed entity, each foot is odd-toed.
which is why i don't wear sandals, 'cuz i agree that toes are odd.

Then you and toes have something in common.

H:

I take issue with your last post. I'm taller than at least four of your toes.

Jerk.

Have fun up north, eh.

There's apparently been a pooner sighting here. Of course, posts in any thread other than this one don't really count, but it's still nice to see he's still alive.

Why thank you Antoine, you bucketeer you. I hope you are as well as can be.

And one more thing bup. I've always loved the X-es on the eyes for that unconsious/dead look in cartoon characters. Your minimalist but poignant attention to details is another one of your strong points.

Does it count as a BoxJam sighting if it's only a reference to the forum?

Is l'pooner French or extremely abbreviated for little pooner? This greatly affects my opinion.

It's short for "lampooner," I believe.

"Hydro," as everyone knows, is French for "jerk."

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Doodle

Postby Lord Emsworth on Mon Aug 15, 2005 6:17 am

If I were sloshed, I'd probably be incredibly queasy, and very probably locked in the bathroom.

In any event, what ho again, o blue one. Coming to you from scenic Syracuse (a hectic move, but worth it; teaching assistantship and grad school tuition paid, on the road to the masters). No net access at the apartment yet, but thought I'd drop in from the library. Been awhile, after all. Besides, the Wednesday August 10th strip demanded comment.

A bold return to the classic BoxJam/Orange Guy conflict, with a stunning twist and rather unsettling visual panache. The amorphous quality of the Orange Guy leads me to wonder if this is indeed *the* Orange Guy, or whether it is either an alien being using his form, or perhaps an outward manifestation of BoxJam's jealousy and unfounded resentment and hatred finally seething over into an external mass which engulfs him, but fails to alter his bitter viewpoint. The orange representing heat, warmth, passion, danger, and sherbet contrasting with the BoxJam blue, which in this context might be seen as signifying coldness, depression, hospital sheets, confined safety without security, and the dismal sameness of Smurfs reruns. The continued presence of this strip reveals more than a spotty update schedule, but rather the way such fears and resentments linger on, unchanging, in the human psyche. Bravo, M. BoxJam!

bup:

I've got an idea for a Doodle. It's about this big jerk who goes up to Canada with his son for a fishing trip.

More details to follow after I've talked with Hydro about how his fishing trip to Canada was.

Don't take it personally, Lordy -- my inimical-ness is spread out equally among all those who come into contact with me.

I did like your "harrumph" though.
