Animation I finished recently. It was supposed to be for christmas, but I'm slow.

And I remember talking with someone here about self portraits for art class. So this was my recent, sucky, self portrait. The assignment was, draw yourself as someone else, i.e. your face with someone else's clothing and hairstyle.

Weeeeee.... I dunno why I'm sharing. You'll all probably rip my stuff to shreds, and I'll go into a severe depression about how I'm not improving nor will I ever become a good artist, and how everyone hates me and my artwork. And then quit school and run back home, and become a bum and eventually drown in a gutter puddle. XD

I know I finally decided to set up a deviant page, I still have yet to add any artwork to it yet <.<

Yeah, my dA page is full of lots of clutter. XD DA is annoying for those first several months, where nothing you post gets seen though. It took me awhile to build up enough watchers/friends to actually get comments and favs on my stuff. XD

omg..the baby..xD
Don't put yourself down APE. You're better at realistic then I am.
Every artists gets better and evolves. I think that looks excellent.
The shading is great, and there is texture in it. It doesn't look flat and it has feeling to it. *nods*

Can I be the tin man?

I like it's simplistic nature contrasting the complex details on little things.

yes, your self-protrait needs a small plastic/rubber duckie balanced on your head to fully compleate it!

Well APE, from what I remember from seeing the first time you posted stuff here way way ago, it loooks pretty dang good. Just looks like you gotta put a little more finesse in your skills. Seriosly though. It looks good.

Not enough sex in it

Do have ANY imagination? Or is your humor only limited to one tiny arena? Wait, you don't need to answer that.

Don't fucking give it to the spambot.

Because if he finds you, he finds all of us.

a paradox found me on DA, but i dunno if it's our paradox or some other random paradox that just happened to watch me for some reason.

*grumbles at people who fave and don't comment. how's she supposed to know WHY they liked the picture if they don't comment?*

On a slightly related note, I have found that I can't even access DeviantArt from my campus network anymore without circumventing all the blocks. It's so ghey I sometimes (read: every day) want to blow to smitherines the OIT.

Yep that's pretty ghey.

well, as DA contains tasteful nudes and anything pornographic is deleted on the spot, it's obviously a hell-hole that should be banned from any reasonable network.

DT: Practice practice practice. :D Your going to stab me aren't you?

Paradox: I will tell you the same thing I told the last person that asked for a link to my dA page. If you can't find where I "hid" the link to my deviantart page, you really suck at even the most elementary level of stalking.

Vex Wolf: In regards to your self portrait. That looks like one big acid trip to me. =p Its a very nice sorta surreal hippy style. And you have lots of well done detailing, that helps share aspects of your personality and interests. Such as the wolf necklace, and the fire by the sides of the face.

Now if you were going for realistic, and accurate portrayal of yourself as a human (not alien), you do indeed fail. =p I have, in my experience, found that having high contrast, and over exaggerating the lights and darks, help make the image pop and make it more memorable to the viewer. Out lines will rape and then kill any attempts at realism. Composition wise, beginners tend to always put the subject of the composition in the center of the page. And by offsetting things, even a little bit, or placing them on a diagonal, will make any picture, no matter how poorly drawn, more interesting. And I could go into depth about the proportions of the human face and where to shade, etc, but I'll spare you for now.
