Roomies Book Collection

Postby Walky on Sat Dec 14, 2002 10:58 pm

The bad news is that Roomies #5 is cancelled.

The good news is that you'll get the entirety of Roomies in one book all at once instead. Every strip, every original comic book story, new stories, and an enhanced conclusion will be in this. Dunno how much it's gonna cost or when it's gonna be out yet, but get ready.

One of the stories that was originally going to be in Roomies! #5, the first of a two-part story originally to be concluded in #6, is now up on PREMIUM to view, as a teaser. After a while it'll be on the site proper for everyone to read, but for now PREMIUM subscribers get first dibs.

Those of you who have subscriptions to the Roomies! comic book will be able to put the remaining balance towards the book, transfer your subscription to one of the other Keencomics, or get a refund. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them.

What happens if you had a paypal account when you subscribed, but don't anymore?
I think therefore you're not.

I'll have to ask Chris about that. Or, you can email keenspot@keenspot.com and have them answer you personally.

First, give me your firstborn...

Or, um, mail it to me. The book, not your firstborn. And then maybe I'll mail it back. Maybe.

Aww. Well, that's not much of a surprise, really. It's great to hear that everything's still getting released, though. And in the end, a single book is probably easier to hold on to and keep from damage than a collection of comic books.

It seems to me that the worst deal about this is that Willis suddenly has to draw up *all* of the extra content for the whole series before anything new gets printed.

That, and if he's not careful he could end up with a lot of firstborns in his mailbox. Some of which are big enough to fend for themselves.

Are copies of issues #1-4 still available? I still need to buy an Xmas gift for Icewolf. Or would you rather us just buy the book?

The released comic books are indeed still available. Snatch 'em up. It'll be a while before the collection's out.

Sorry to hear about the comic books getting cancelled, but I'm not terribly surprised. My local store never got them in (even after I'd asked), and they stock a much more varied selection than most comic stores (and the owner likes webcomics too).

How much will this book cost? And how much would be left on the "balance" for those of us who already received 1-4 in their subscriptions?

I need to know those before I decide whether to take my refund or put it towards the book.

(edit: my bad)

Well, as I explained, I don't know yet. I don't know when I'll be able to find out, as I'm still making up material to put this thing together. Check out the other Keenspot TPBs for sale, and you might get a general idea, I suppose.

Whoa! Just over half a cent US for a whole AU dollar? Damn, where do you exchange your money? I want in on that deal!

Hey, Dragontear, you'll be glad to know that there are some folks making noises that North America should follow the lead of the EU and not just have a free trade agreement, but a unified currency.

But then, who'd want to have to use Ameros?

As part of our great plan to take back the american colonies the euro will soon replace all the rebel currencies currently in use there!

A book sounds great. I'll almost certainly buy one. So you really meant all three years of Roomies! plus the "bonus features"? Wow, I'll start saving my money then.

Yes! I've been waiting for this. Granted, it's a bummer about the comics, but I think a book is so much better. Now, will we ever get to see a book #2 with another 3 years of IW?

I'd certainly like to do a second book, but that's all depending on how well this book does, I'd imagine. I'd like a hypothetical IW! collection to start at the beginning of IW! and go until the Fifth Anniversary strip.
