Sir Greg! - ivbalis.org forums nonresponsive

Something's up with the ivbalis.org forums... there's some loading, then a blank screen presents itself and the forums are apparently finished in their loading. But nothing is displayed.

(Running Mozilla 1.4 alpha, in case that becomes an issue.)

Anyone else having trouble? Or is this scheduled maintenance?

I'm having the same problem.
I'm using an AMD1900, 384MB ram, 60 gig hd with 5 gigs for webpages, so I would have been sure it's not any hardware shortcommings on my ends if I hadn't been using M$ VirusXP[1] and M$ IE6.0[2]

[1] I asume XP means "eXtra Potent".
[2] That number means "6 major bugs/flaws. 0 attems to correct"... right?

Not having the same problem. Suppose it has something to do with using linux?

It's possible, Josh. You say you can get in fine, though?

I can get through without issue Silver. It just loads, and I go to read the posts, like usual. I did have some problems a while back that kept me from getting on the board, but it's not currently a problem for me.

Yes, the forums are back up now. I've been overseas, and wasn't able to administrate the box remotely.

I'm back now, and I'll be more attentive in future!

Sir Greg

Ack. sorry. Apparently I was confused on what forum was meant, and just now realized it. Sorry if my posts, intended to help, did more harm instead.

Don't worry about it.

In answer to your question, no, the problem wasn't caused by Linux - it was simply a crashed program, which can happen under any operating system.

The problem tig noticed about loading avatars wasn't Linux related either. The user account that runs the web server didn't have permission to save files into the avatar directory. My bad - sorry guys.

But, they're both fixed now. Any more issues or problems, drop me a line and I'll get right on it.

PIQE,
Sir Greg

Thanks a bunch, Greg!

Now, all we need to do is find a time for Conclave...
