Cells Listing (18/01/02)

The noble Order of the Knights of Jubal traces its origins back to the Year Two Thousand A.D., when a group of distinguished persons of good and true character, founded the order to promote chivalry and honour. The order takes its name from our leader, Alexander Jubal McRae, who on two (so far) occasions has been seriously injured, in one case fatally, defending an innocent woman from attackers.

Hi all
In case you haven't been following the discussion over at 'cells, an interesting idea,' it has been decided to start organizing the cells and see how we go.
SO, this thread is for people to ANNOUNCE the formation of cells. Please keep the announcements to this thread, and the invidual cell discussion to other appropriate threads so I don't loose any in the noise
May I ask that
a: if a cell is already somewhat up and running (the hateweb cell seems to be fairly autonomous already), please give me a cell name, a brief description of the cells aims or intentions, and a contact point (name and email). If available, I'd also like some idea of how the cell is operating (on the board or if you've taken it to email)
b: if you have an idea, same information as above, but please note that the cell is one you INTEND to start.
Thankyou very much
Rei

I propose a cell called 'Listening Hearts'
The purpose of this cell would to give moral, ethical religious and psychological guidance. The givers of this guidance would need to keep in mind the oath. Instead of a 'Chaplin' type of cell this group would include non-religious persons as well as the religious types.
This way we are able to help all peoples no matter what their background or religious oreintation.
Additionally I volunteer as a member of that cell.
------------------

Yes, a CI can be RK. My personal design on formats is that it should be readable by both Mac and PC computers, so either .txt, .rtf, or .doc would be the best ones for that job.

We don't actually have a preferred or standard method for keeping records.
As Sir Silver said, TXT or RTF would be best, since they are more or less universal. For preference, RTF since it can include formatting.
I have facilities to convert to PDF, which will probably be the format used for record archives, and for static documents on the web site.

sure, you can be a member of as many cells as you feel capable of handling.
hey Greg, perhaps we might polish up and post my little cells explaination on the website.
as for what the RK does, well, I can think of at least four main duties:

1. keep an accurate and uptodate list of all the members of your cell (name, contact details, and skills/interests if applicable.)
2. keep track of the discussion and activities of your cell (so when I ask for a report, you can give me one!)
3. keep an eye on debate and activity and make sure it sticks to the Oath (not police it, just make sure ppl don't stray too much without realising it -- kinda like the chair of a meeting)
4. act as point-person for queries from people outside your cell

**looks to the Knights and other members of Admin** did i miss any?
rei

3 and 4 can be split between Convenor and Record Keeper. But I don't think you've missed any of the basic ones...
