Have a Pineapple

Postby TKarrde98 on Tue Dec 23, 2003 11:48 am

Well, HBar hasn't been here much in a long time, though we're doing our best to keep his pineapple tradition alive.

Well, today after greeting Mitchy, it got me thinking. (Dangerous, I know!)

Mark Stanley and White Pony's fora have the wonderful idea of having a welcome basket. Why don't we try that? The Pineapple could be the central feature. What else should we add? I'm thinking, at least a CD-ROM on "conversational dSpeak" should be in there...

Rather interesting idea. I'll supply the basket.

... ... what? Someone has to offer the basket in the first place so we can fill it, right?

Ok, on a slightly more serious tone, I think my contribution could be a towel. Massively useful things, wouldn't you say? Size, colour, material and pattern are up to the recipient.

Let's see if this works...

Hey do you jive that Sinistro? There's a frood who really knows where his towel is.

I approve greatly! What else shall we add?

Wow. People are still getting pineapples? I guess I should try to come around more often...but not having an internet connection at home kinda limits how much time I spend online.

Now, a welcome basket! That's a nifty idea. Can I paint one paisley?

You can, but no one will take it.

Ooh, a UPD! Yes, very important. Hehehe. Never know when children might enter the forum.

Ok... Pineapple, towel, UPD, Stompage starter kit... what else?

Oh! I think we should include a copy of ROWR! Magazine-- you know, the one featuring Tiffany. :)

How about a CD featuring Litho's Magnificent Donkey? :P

OK... So far we have:

A pineapple
A towel
A Unicorn Protection Device™
A Stompage™ starter kit
An issue of Rowr with Tiffany on the cover
(EDIT: Whoo, 1 minute apart!) A Litho’s Magnificent Donkey album

...And I’m feeling very generous, so here’s a half-dozen oranges to add to the welcome basket!

Don't forget the other item TKarrde98 proposed - a CD-ROM on conversational Doverspeak! Although the ROWR cover might get us in trouble with Leona, seeing that it was the very first grudge she held against Tiffany... :-?

And if it can be arranged, a pre-release DVD of "Kitten Kaboodle".

Fair enough; we'll put in an issue with Leona on the cover--even if we have to doctor the photo. :)

Yeah, I was hoping people would find something of Leona's to put in, too. How about, rather than a doctored magazine (that could actually add insul tto injury), why don't we add an autographed 8x10 glossy of Leona-5?

I think that's a pretty good setup. Too much more, and it won't fit in the basket! Any other last-second add-ins that anyone simply must add?

I just thought of another one:

How about an official Watering Hole staff shirt, just like the one worn by Leonard, Wally, and Katie? (autographed!)

Let’s sum up the list once more:
-One pineapple
-CD-ROM about conversational D-speak
-One towel
-Unicorn Protection Device™
-Stompage™ starter kit
-Issue of Rowr™ with Tiffany Tiger on the cover
-Litho’s Magnificent Donkey album
-Half a dozen oranges
-Tiffany Tiger cardboard cutout
-Kitten Kaboodle pre-release DVD
-8x10 photo of Leona-5 autographed by Leona Lioness
-Watering Hole staff shirt autographed by Leonard Lion, Wally Roo, and Katie Kodiak

Whoo! What a list, what a list!

The cardboard cutout is a splendid idea, but since Tiffany is already covered in the DVD and ROWR! magazine, how about we make the cardboard cutout to be of the new forum visitor's favourite character instead? He/she will probably have one by the time he/she visits the forum for the first time.

Tin-foil-hat?
Haven't you heard that, while it shields you from the aliens and the govern-mental atacks, it will focus the mind-controll-rays of the red ants directly into your brain? It's dangerous!

What about that card? Is it like [that] one?
I wouln't like getting it! :x

No, I think Mooncat meant something like the Get Out Of Jail card in Monopoly. I doubt that Smith, err Brown would go around handing out anything that gives that kind of privileges!
(Uh, Brown? Number Two? Duh.)
Well, how about a signal device hooked up to Arden's pager? (Only works in the Village)

Ooh! We have to add a ten pack of these!

And with that, I think we shall put the cellophane on the basket and call it good, neh?

Won Tolla, we could put the Watering Hole itself in a basket that size! Let's not get carried away, as that isn't the point. Hehe. ;)

That's good. For now. ;) (Seriously thought, I know at least the FF basket has been updated a couple of times.. We'll see what the future brings...)

Just a late thought - how about (perhaps optionally) replacing the photo with a Leona 5 action figure?

Oh, and the official list should include links to the items that can be found on the web.

Wasn't Leona in Cleocatra? I believe I saw a picture of her in that in the Talk to the Character thread. We could put in a DVD of her in that.
