Losing the Crown

Postby sun tzu on Wed Apr 23, 2003 2:07 am

Somehow, I'm not sure that Bruno realizes this: By 'losing the crown', it is inferred that he has to give up his position as king.

Hopefully, Carlin will be clever enough not to tell him =)

but, see, if Carlin DOES tell Bruno, then at least he'll get to use the rest of his sermon...

Maybe Bruno does understand and he just wants to get away from being King. Didn't Bruno say at the start of this that it felt good to be back in his Banditing duds.

Plus, wouldn't it just be a huge big kick in the butt if greed ended up being incredibly easy for Bruno to beat.

I do think Bruno knows what he's giving up... I just found it very funny that he was ready to do it without another long-winded sermon from Carlin.

However, what would be the consequences of his daughter, then?

Note that Carlin never "thought" that Bruno would have to give up rothland... he just thought that "Sure, Bruno... if you consider giving up the crown of Rothland easy..."

Looks like I was right...Bruno is willing to give up the crown, not the kingdom.
Carlin thinks it'll work...Which worries me. Could the resident saint be wrong?

or maybe xu'buxx knows there's a stinger - like, bruno can only get a new crown if he trades in the old one.

i _would_ suggest that bruno is willing to give up the kingship because he realizes there will still be a lot of work to be done to get the kingdom back in shape even after the portal is closed, and there's nothing he hates more than work - but he's not that far-sighted.

I love that horrible idea about a crown with cupholders, though =)

that _is_ great - i get an image of a gem-encrusted baseball cap, with something like 'rothland rulez!' on the front.

I think Bruno's right about that one "conveying his true majesty". =P

Now I'm wondering if Bruno is going to change his mind because of how much he could make selling jewels made by Ailix. =P

so if ailix threw the jewels in the sea - how did they wind up in the crown?

but you're right - it _does_ give him a reason to want to hang on to the old thing...

I'm wondering the same thing. That explanation's probably coming in the next strip.

I think they're those special floating jewels that we've all heard about...
