Jeez, just what we need -- 24-hour Osbornes.

I like where this is going Ian. Fame vampires are, apparently, funny.

well, there are enough of them out there to give us plenty to laugh at - i mean, why else would anyone actually _want_ to be on 'fear factor'? i haven't caught the osborne's yet - but i suspect delores's happy little family will be even better....

I myself don't watch those shows...blah...At least they're not crap like "The Bachelor."

The only reason we still have a TV is for videos and so my kids can watch Disney and PBS. I personally have sworn off TV watching completely.

i'm close to it - except that the sopranos is back on. i will confess to watching the first 'survivor' - but since then my exposure to 'reality' shows is solely through commercials - which is bad enough.

That's the other thing... I may have a dish, but I don't pay for premium channels.

Very true... over 150 channels and there's still nothing on that's better than reading a book...

Do you get TechTV in that 150 channels? Cause if you do and you're not watching The Screen Savers, then you're really missing out!

I do get Tech TV, and I've heard of the Screen Savers, but I'm not sure when it's on (Or if I can actually watch instead of my kids wanting a video...)

ummm...."the screen savers"? what is this - alternating versions of fishtanks? (i used to have one from "sherman's lagoon", which was great, but it couldn't handle windows 2000).

my cable company is hopelessly dorky - it doesn't even carry the sci-fi channel.

Even the dorks'd make fun of them, I suppose.

Mouse, you too???? I used to have that one all the time. I used to turn the 'hunter' and 'prey' fish up to maximum just to watch the feeding frenzy......

Same here... and I've just been going through screen saver crisis mode recently. I'm bored with the work ones, and the one at home quit working for some odd reason. I'm thinking about bringing it back... although I'd probably turn off the prey and hunter fish... can't be scaring the kids, now...

oh, but it's an important life-lesson for them. just leave the counts at the default - that way, there's alway a chance that they might miss some of the attacks...

(oh yeah - and the little 'pop' of the puffer fish!....maybe he's updated his screensaver by now)

actually, screensavers seem to be rather pointless with windows 2000 - it's got this energy saver feature, so it turns the monitor off if nothing happens for 15 min. or so.

although when i lock it, that screen seems to stay up all night...hmm.

On my linux machine, I have the bobule screensaver up, which basically is a bunch of little blobs that make up a sphere. My daughter loves it. She thinks they're fireflies.

Sorry I haven't responded. Real life, you know how it is...

Anyway! The Screen Savers is a great technology TV show. They do tech related news, they answer computer questions on the air, they do cool "mods" to machines, celebrity interviews... It's basically an hour and a half of geeky goodness. Limax, it's on at 7:00 EST every M-F, so adjust accordingly.

If you're really curious, go hereand see for yourself.

Shoot... if it's on at 7pm EST, then I'll never see it. That's 4pm PST, and I usually don't get home until 6. (Darn eastern feed...) And taping is out of the question... (Little kids, you know) Hm. Maybe this is the justification for a TiVO....

Never fear! They rerun the show at 10PM EST, so that would be 7 for you!

And I have yet to see the show... it's amazing that how every time I want to watch the TV (which isn't often), one of the kids has a video in. It makes me wonder who's in control here....
