I don't think he needed to prove that he could sound the bells, from the middle of the plaza, however...

Smokable substances of any kind (whether inhaled or used internally) should not ever be involved with anything remotely political...

Which, of course, is one of the most commonly heard comments in the Oval Room...

well, from a native's (i.e., U.S.-ite) perspective, the stretch from Arkansas to Texas is not all that great...

BTW -- "Office", Oval Office (not like I know whether Australia has a PM, or Pres, even.)

Sorry. Office, room, same difference. ;-)

Not really; he's far too commonly talked about here...

The main reason that you don't see much of him there, is that he's completely uninteresting. He has no charisma, no redeeming qualities, but no real notable scandals either.

Just plain boring.

The US gets their Presidential scandals; the UK gets the Royal Family & their parliamentary scandals.

What we need is a good scandal over here! An affair or something!

Hmmm... No. Looking at the current PM's photo, an affair wouldn't be pretty...

Hell; we get more coverage when one of the minor political parties (eg, the Democrats here, who are a minor party - about 4th in size) falls apart and looks like it'll split!

then what on earth do you all find to talk about him?! but my point is, you keep him out of the International Arena, thus sparing yourselves the spectacle of your chief exec making the entire country look foolish.

i don't know - maybe that's what chief execs are for, really. they certainly are good at it.

Course they are; it's part of the Oath. The 'Ken Oath...

As for talking about 'im? Ah, there's the usual stuff... Besides, every month when I have to deal with people filling out their paperwork for the "New Tax System," it usual generates discussion...

Or is that "de-generates?"

Nah - then I'd have to try and find a matching handbag. And I'd be worried that the scales might be from someone I knew!
