thanks. poor ian - his memory doesn't seem to be any better than mine (it was the 'ring of empathy' back then). gotta say, though - i like 'ring of rebounding' better - 'empathy' just seems so warm and compassionate. 'rebounding' has more the essential element of aggression....

Reminds me of like the "Justice Field" on Red Dwarf.

If you try to hurt someone, they feel nothing and you receive the full effects.

There was a psychotic "inmate" that wanted to kill everyone. He was defeated when he bashed himself to death (via proxy.)
