Welcome indeed, Martin! Hope you'll stay awhile.

As for your comments on the current story, Mouse, glad you like, but remember, Dibunquer is not necessarily meant to be anyone in particular, other than himself of course... even if he happens to look more than a little like that Amazing skeptic you mentioned. My lawyer thought I should mention this, in order to avoid any lawsuits!

G'day Martin,

As the Unofficial SpokesPerson from the Unofficial Brunatics Welcoming Committee, I'd like to Unofficially welcome you to the phorum! *

I agree - Ian's strip is utterly fantastic and rates as #1 on my list of comics to read daily. (With the Phorums rating as #1 on my waste of time list. Yup - Even above those mentioned in the "handy" thread...) :D

So - welcome! Pull up a chair and enjoy yourself.

By all means, participate in the phorums! Who knows - you might be able to do what none have been able to do before; Make the phorums actually discuss the strip!

Cheers,

Antarius of Linux

Which, coincidentally, was the official writeup of the planet Earth in the latest edition of "The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy," which fell through a time warp and onto my desk.

'twas a pity that it was about 12' long, 6' thick, weighed 2,000 lbs and was written in Esperanto.

Apart from that, it was quite useful.

well, i certainly read other online comics - and i've mentioned bruno there, so i could mention others here.... i mean, if i really wanted to.....

although as antarius mentioned, somehow we manage not even to mention bruno here very often.....(but we ever hold worshipful thoughts of the magical world of bruno the bandit, and the great and illustrious genius of IAN who hath created it and furbished it with much ale and wondrous gems and microdragons and all that is good, so that we, the brunatics, may partake of same and also have a forum in which we can hang out and make inane comments)

and one good thing about this forum: no silly rules about keeping threads on topic!

(oh, and ian - if the lawyers get after you, i'm prepared to swear that i was thinking about someone else entirely. maybe uri gellar)

A Brit that hasn't listened to The Goons?!

Wow! I guess you are a "Junior Keenspotter."

Of course, not I feel really old...

Lurgi is a nonsense disease, created by Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe for The Goon Show (a fantastic British radio series from many moons ago, by the BBC).

If afflicted, one would run around yelling "Yeck-a-boo!" like someone with Turet's syndrome.

There is no cure.

Beware the dreaded lurgi!

Cheers,

Antarius of Goon

As a graduate of Uri Gellar's Institute of Advanced Spoon Bending, I have to take offense at all of this innuendo, name calling and words made up of letters from the alphabet!

It's disgraceful that you plebian mortals can sit there and big-note yourselves by belittling my profession.

Honestly - do I laugh at your professional works? Of course not! (erm... Well... Maybe I do, but that's not the point!)

Yes, it is... To be specific: "Happiness is a warm puppy with black bean sauce. Oooh! And Deep Fried Ice Cream for dessert!"

Well, that's no excuse! Anyone born less than 1970 should know at least *some* Goons!

I think the name of the episode was "The Dreaded Lurgi." Funny that - that'll save them changing the name!

Unless, of course, it wasn't, in which case they won't anyhow.

Unless the "they" in question is really the "them" of "us and them," as opposed to the them of "it's them!" which is rendered inoperative in the presence of "those" whilst under the influence of "that."
