Sept. 1 "Star Wars" Quote

Must... resist... geek urge... to nitpick..... resistance... failing..... urge to... nitpick... rising.........

I do believe the exact quote should be "These aren't the droids you're looking for," but it wouldn't strike me as impossible that Gavcharacter isn't a hard-core, dyed to the wool Star Wars geek. Doesn't quite seem like him to me. I'm certain he's seen at least the original trilogy a number of times, but not so much that he has ever line memorized and can quote them all verbatim... not like I know anyone like that.... :shifty: :smug:

Also, knowing Gav, is entirely possible there are a couple of droids in the back seat, similar to, but not actually, some droids that were used to commit some crimes, and thus are being looked for by the police.

Indeed, but humor wise, Gavartist is hitting it on all cylinders. :)

Actually, Jeff, I knew the exact quote. I'm slightly more of a geek than Gav is, I guess.

The characters speak for themselves nowadays. It didn't seem natural for him to use the precise quote. It seemed more natural for him to use the quote that everyone thinks is from the movie.

What? People actually think that's the quote? That's terrible. It's such an easy line to remember and everything.

I know the bit where Darth Vader claims paternity of Luke is often mis-quoted, but I didn't know that line was. What's wrong with these people?!

But why does it matter? Does the joke change if the quote isn't exact? Why do people worry themselves over such things?

I sometimes wonder why people are so interested in memorizing the painstaking minutia of their favorite movies, which themselves often couldn't even be bothered to obey the laws of physics.

Honestly, I have no idea what most people think is the actual quote, but I've heard Gav's version mentioned in passing often enough, and I figured Gav is the type to not really give a crap about it. Shorter means quicker delivery, which often makes for a better joke (especially in a comic, where brevity is almost always better).

So yes, oddly, I made him say it wrong on purpose. Perhaps that's too much character development, but there are a lot of "little details" in Nukees like that, which you guys never know about.

I should probably do an "artist's commentary" one day, like Aeire is, with Queen of Wands.

What, me give a wrong URL? Impossible!

Funny, I even remembering testing the URL before I posted it. How could that have screwed up?

Perhaps I was just trying too hard to think like myself.

That would be a more accurate paraphrase if you'd said "Unpossible."

Either can be used.
URLs are examples of URI according to http://dictionary.reference.com/search? ... identifier

And of course in common vernacular there's no distinction at all; they're just synonyms for "internet address".
