So King Luca was once a knight? I'm interested in hearing how he rose to be "King"...

I'm just vaugely susprised he's playing the part of the evil knight, even if he is also the good knight. Besides, a king can be a knight, and a knight a king...... at least, I'm fairly sure they can....

The word "knight" has several meanings. No problem with a king being a knight, in some senses of the word.

Moreover, would he be a king at this age? Would it not be more likely that his kingdom was run by a guardian until his coming of age?

There is no problem with a future king being a knight, in any sense of the word!

As I understand old traditions, calling a king a knight is the equivalent of calling the Prime Minister a party worker or a General a Captain.

But a General is a captain! ... in one sense of the word. It's just that in reference to rank, it has a specific meaning that contradicts that of "General", so using those together like that does not work at all.

(Reference Tolkien's "captains of the West", for instances of commanders-in-chief, indeed kings, being referred to as captains.)

And I don't think anyone will object to calling a Prime Minister a party worker. Unless said PM is an independent, that is. :P

It looks like Luca did rise through the ranks (14th July). Or maybe he just "married" into a promotion?

A sword and the ability to use it makes surviving many things easier.

One can be declared "king" even when one is young, depending on the rules and traditions of the country. But you won't necessarily get to call the shots until you're older.

According to
http://www.philaguide.com/issue1891.htm
for instance, Wilhemina became queen of the Netherlands at the age of 10.
