I want to make this list

Postby DarkShive on Fri May 05, 2006 8:47 pm

http://www.nukees.com/d/19990312.html - I want a list like this. It would make every day a "will this be the day I cross this line being said off my list" adventure.

First on the list: "The coupon's expired, but we'll honor it anyway".

Man, that'd be sweet...

Everyone should have such a list!

While it's not a line I "heard," per se, my favorite thus far is a notice I have pinned up on my office wall from the Berkeley Parking Citation Office, which says something to the effect of:

"As a courtesy, we are dismissing this violation..."

Co-workers marvel at it. It implies that they still think I broke the law, but that they just felt like being nice that day. Think about that. The Parking Office felt like being nice.

And actually, when I wrote that strip, I had two things in mind to start Danny's list. Now I've forgotten what the second one was... I'm sure there's some little scrap of a cocktail napkin around here somewhere with both of them...
Lates...

I actually heard that line last week (not for me, but for a lady at the register next to me) at BLOCKBUSTER of all places. To top it off, she was trying to redeem a promotional bottle cap for a free rental the expired over a YEAR ago. That's some pretty insane customer service right there.

Of course, I was at KFC a few days later, tried to redeem a coupon that had expired a mere 3 days prior and was informed by the manager that they couldn't redeem it. So I guess it all balances out in the end. ;-P

I shall assume you are right, then. Oh, and you don't matter. ;)

Somehow I was reminded of this comic from the great webcomic known as Dr. McNinja:
http://drmcninja.com/page.php?pageNum=4&issue=3

List of things to do before I die:

1) Jump off a tall building, and improvise way into a safe landing.
2) Go to Mars and find the cure for cancer.
3) Find true love.
4) Punch out a dinosaur.
5) Escape a nuclear explosion within a margin of less than 30 seconds.
6) Battle to the death atop the edge of an active volcano.
7) Defeat an army of zombies.
8) Make a pirate cry.
