What awareness--if any-- do you have with Jorge Cham's "Piled Higher and Deeper" (http://www.phdcomics.com), a strip about engineering grad students at Stanford (I'm vague on my Calif. geography, but that's close to Berekley?). Given that it started about the same time as "Nukees" ('97ish), and has some similar topics (i.e., an umpteenth-year student without a thesis), have you ever tipped one another off/threatened to sue? 8)

Virtually no awareness... Other than the fact that the girl in the cubicle next to mine has one up on her wall.

Stanford is about 40 miles from Berkeley. We're considered "rival" schools, epitomized in what's known each year as "The Big Game." If you care about football, that is. Which I don't.

It's probably best if I don't read anything the guy has done, lest I find that I am unable to make certain jokes in the future if they turn out to be too similar to something he's already written.
