How can "normal" happen only to one individual?

I read several webcomics.

How can it happen to anyone?
It's just not normal to be normal.

By application of a prescriptive norm. :P

Okay, so that's not technically correct. A descriptive norm could also happen to apply to one individual only. But that's not as funny.
perl -e 'print "Just another Perl ${\(trickster and hacker)},";'

The Sidhekin proves that Sidhe did it!

The satistical average is neither the mean nor mode of the sample. ie, you have 201 people, and ask how old they are. 100 say 30, 100 say 10, and 1 says 20. While the average age is 20 years old, only the old guy is actually that age. ((Think that math works out right, too lazy too check))

Hrmmm... actaully, think in that use, the 'normal' vector heads perpendicular to the force of the movement surface.... in which case Gavcharecter could well be considered 'normal'....

But based on his Guiness consumption, not likely.

He could also be of unit length. As in "orthonormal basis".

Actually, I believe you're being too specific. "Normal", in that context, likely means "perpendicular". You can have a vector that is normal to a plane in 3D, or a vector that is normal to a line (or another vector) in 2D.

(Spoken like a graphics weenie. Which is OK, I guess, because I am one.)

Eh, it's been a few years since I've worked with vectors. Well, other than actually throwing stuff, but that isn't quite the same....

I don't have much to say about normality, but I can easily relate to the bit about resetting the video &c. With the exception that it usually annoys my mother, because she has simply adjusted to the clock being late/early. And a Heaven forbid I actually set it precisely rather than five minutes fast.
