Worried about Gav (16th Nov)

Rescuing Suzy was wrong? That makes me feel more than ever that Ma'at's a malign influence.

No, only that Gav thinks it was. Gav's always been narcissistic, now he just has a philosophy to hide his grabs for power and prestige in. In search of truth, he'll put himself on top of everything.

actually, it seems like ma'ats a the sole good influence; which is covered up by everything else. She told gav to use his talents to search out the truth (i.e. science for the purpose of science) and gav decided it was a go ahead to be dictator with a moral imperative.

Good influence, bad influence, she still doesn't make much sense. Why does the personification of Truth and Order seem to be having an affair? Is Gav really just that strong of a chaotic influence? If so, that could be interesting...

It wasn't *what* he did that's in moral question. It's the fact that he lied about it. Or at least allowed her to believe a lie.

Test Reply

Postby Keenspot Nate on Mon Nov 28, 2005 11:19 pm

This is a test reply because the PHP developers are idiots who changed a fundamental way the code works in a minor 5.0.4 -> 5.0.5 upgrade and broke the phpBB (among many other programs).

Hopefully it will work.

If so, please disregard.

Is that why I couldn't post earlier?

Yup. Nate had to upgrade PHP, and it turns out phpBB is incompatible with PHP5.0.5 and beyond for certain stupid reasons. I noticed the problem right away, but it turns out it's virtually impossible to downgrade software on FreeBSD once it's installed (at least through the "legitimate" pathways), so it took some time to correct.
