Danny to perform at Flake's

Postby gwalla on Sun Nov 03, 2002 5:48 pm

Saw a flyer on a traffic light post today for a guy called Danny Blitz playing at Blake's. My first thought was of Danny from Nukees.

Isn't it fun when things like these merge over into reality?

Or odd, at least?

Heh. So what kind of music can you picture Danny playing?

No way, Danny is obviously the keyboard player for a band like Rammstein. ;-P

Danny's Music

Postby Wafath on Mon Nov 11, 2002 3:07 pm

I once saw a band opening up for Fugazi called "Orthrealm". They consisted of two guys, one on electric guitar, the other on drums. They did not have songs. They did not have lyrics. They did not have discernable melody, rhythem, pattern, or anything remotely inetersting. They did know how to play their instruiments, and they did play them in a way that wasn't hostile to what the other person was playing. But they stood up there for about 45 minutes, staring at each other while just wanking away on their instruments. yes, it was that homo-errotic.

Essentially they sounded like two guys who had figured out how to play fooling around in their mom's basement because they thought it was cool.

This is the kind of band I think Danny would be in. Except there would be more explosions. (accidental or on purpose, I am not sure yet.)

I think Danny designed all of Ensturzende Neubauten's more interesting instruments.

Heh heh. I only myself remembered this reference the second time I read it! Very astute, Thomas! Bonus points!

For anyone that didn't get it, reread the Danny Quotes, in particular the fourth from the bottom.

Not elaborate enough. A Danny-designed instrument would necessarily be capable of playing in 72 different tuning systems, with sequencing ability. Given enough time in the design phase, it would play itself.

Well, EB has been around for a long time. The instruments are obviously back from when Danny was just getting started.
