So, 3/4th of a sock constitute 3% of Jezebel's surface...
i.e. she could be covered completely in only 25 Socks?!?
that's either a rather tiny lady, or rather large socks, or Gav perfers her at least a little slutty... ;-)

If I was at home, I could measure the rough amount of fabric needed to cover me. But I am not, and my co-workers think I am weird enough.

40% seems a bit high, tho. Citation?

25 socks (of the kind I wear) would give about 1.4-1.6 square meters.
If she's average height, and has a BMI of 20, she'd have about 1.5 square meters of skin surface.

So that seems to work out pretty well.

Here's a reference for the 40% bit: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/scie ... t-men.html

I'll try and find the original paper as well.. [edit] http://brill.publisher.ingentaconnect.c ... 0/art00002 [/edit]

[edit2]
I can't find any evidence in the paper to suggest that male attraction goes down when the percentage of bare skin increases beyond 40%. In the first place it only makes the distinction <20%, 21-39% and >40% (noting also that there was no exposure over 50%, nor less than 10%). If anything, signs simply point to "less is more".
