(06/18) A nose full of Salsa

Postby darking on Tue Jun 18, 2002 8:38 am

Considering 1) Connor's a dog 2) a decent salsa should be pretty spicy and 3) just overall size of his nose, I'm expecting Connor to be in a coma right about now. :)

Well, I guess this is the only way Kevin's going to get over Stormy, her leaving. Pity, though, but with her gone maybe he'll find someone else that he likes. I wonder why they're moving to Boston, though.

Hey, could be worse... Stormy could've told Kevin that she's put a restraining order on him... Always news you should break over tamales. :)

Boston is my area.

I'll keep an eye out for them, Kevin. :)

Always in need of more dogs around here.
Foxes have pretty much taken over. ;)

And in the name of weird coincidences, this article was linked to from the MSN home page. Honest! That was nowhere NEAR Kevin's mind!

I'm sure it wasn't. (Evil snigger.)

I wonder if Connor's getting another Starbucks job there? I rather hope not - the poor guy seems to be living in that uniform. Tonight's the first time I remember seeing him in anything else.

Simply salsa synchronicity, then.

Poor Kevin! She broke his heart!

::sings "She" by the Monkees::

She! She told me that she loved me
And like a fool, I believed her from the start
She! She said she'd never hurt me
But then she turned around and broke my heart

Why am I standing here
Missing her and wishing she were here
She only did me wrong
I'm better off alone

She! She devoured all my sweet love
Took all I had and then she fed me dirt
She! She laughed while I was cryin'
It was such a joke to see the way it hurt

Why am I standing here
Missing her and wishing she were here
She only did me wrong
I'm better off alone

And now I know just why she
Keeps me hangin' 'round
She needs someone to walk on
So her feet don't touch the ground
But I love her
I need her
I want her
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! She!

Why am I standing here
Missing her and wishing she were here
She only did me wrong now
I'm better off alone

Why am I missing her?
I should be kissing her.........

Except I don't get the impression that Stormy purposely intended to humiliate Kevin and break his heart (like the "She" of the song.) I assumed that Stormy had thought that Kevin was no longer in love with her, and that was why she would invite him to the restaurant to announce her impending marriage with Connor. Both Stormy and Connor looked benignly happy rather than malicious. Of course, I could be wrong...

After seeing today's (6/19) cartoon, it seems I was right after all. :) If Stormy and Connor had intended to deliberately humiliate and torment Kevin, they would have been laughing at him. Instead, Stormy was clearly shocked and offended at Kevin's behavior. If I were her, I wouldn't want anything to do with Kevin again, either (sorry, darking.)

She shouldn't have been totally surprised, not after his outburst in the cinema and that epic confessional e-mail. But then, I suppose she couldn't just let him find it out on the grapevine - they were friends, after all. Maybe there was nothing for it but to invite him to dinner and smile and tell him the wonderful news and hope he'd take it in the right spirit. And it might have gone off okay, if it hadn't been for that unfortunate muscle spasm...

Oh I think Stormy's pretty justified as well. I'm mainly on about Kevin being *mis-treated* If he digs his own grave, that's his own damn fault. :)

I feel bad for Stormy. If you yell at someone that you don't feel anything for them, you're probably wishing it were true. :(
