to draw in more readers than you'd get without them. They won't make a bad strip very popular but they will make a good one more popular than it would otherwise be.
These are:
1) Furriness
2) Anime
3) Furry anime (jackpot!)
4) Video games
5) Geekness in general
6) Pro-Linux, Microsoft-bashing geekness in particular (another jackpot!)
7) College-age stuff

Hot, scantily-clad women (duh)
[P]Get me not wrong; I like all the above things, especially the scantily-clad women.
(And scantily-clad women in scuba gear -well, alls I can say is OOH LA LA!)
But when you don't have any of these, you're eight strikes down from the giddyup.
[P] Anyhoo, there are still some things I could do to get more traffic, like color and going daily or at least M-F. But my current ODFJ absotively, posilutely precludes that. It's a struggle to get any quality writing time in as is, and with my slow drawing (it takes 3 hours minimum for me to do a strip and often twice that), it's a semi-miracle that I get out three a week. I suppose I could pump up the frequency, Kenneth, to maybe 5 a week but the writing would suffer proportionately.
[P] As for getting more hits for the Doodle, well, you gotta keep on keeping on. Moving the current strip to the front page has GOT to help, so more kudos on that. The whole page design should help, in fact, but I still sez you need a neato-logo just to catch the eye of the casual surfer.
[P] And we could ALL use more links; that's the main problem us small-timers have IMHO. The big boys are linked to from PVP, Sluggy et al. and that's bringing in big numbers no bout adoubt it, whilst the rest of us are on the outside looking in. Alas, there's no way to bust into someone's links without hacking into their html...Say, that gives me an idea...
------------------
